My alarm blared through the room. I sat up instantly. I looked out the window seeing the sun shining through. I checked my phone for the time. 4:30 pm. Perfect. I got up opening my suitcase and rummaging through the clothes until I saw my uniform. I smiled. It was a dark red one. Weems never explained why it was red. I got into the uniform and smiled at the comfortable fit of the clothing.

*in town*

I walked down the sidewalk looking at all the normal people. They gave weird looks which I know is due to their hatred for nevermore. But I didn't care. I've always wondered why they hated nevermore and the students it holds. I never really cared for research unless it was necessary. I turned the corner as I looked trough the windows of a coffee shop. There sat Wednesday. I smiled walking into the coffee shop and making my way to her booth. She looked up at me still maintaining her blank expression. "Hi Wednesday." I sent a small smile. "Y/n. What are you doing here?" She asked going back to the book she was reading.

I sat across her in the booth. "Was just in town and saw you. Figured I'd say hi." I looked at the book she was reading. "What are you reading?" I furrowed my brows. "If you must know, I'm figuring out what is killing people in the woods. Found this book in the library and so far it's got no useful information." She continued flipping through the pages. "Wait what?" I furrowed my brows. "There's something killing people in the woods? Like here? In this town?" I said shocked that Enid failed to inform me.

"Yes." She looked at me. "I'm determined to find out who is doing this." I nodded. "Why didn't Enid tell me?" I asked more for myself then for Wednesday. "Enid is too fixated on her recent feelings for a certain stoner." She rested her hands on the table. "Has she updated you on anything at all?" I shook my head no. "She always says she will always tell me everything..." I said getting frustrated. "Calm down y/n. You know what happens when you get mad." I looked up at Wednesday. "How did you even know about that?" My brows knitted together. "No one is supposed to know so how did you know as soon as you met me?"

Wednesday looked to the side still holding her blank expression. She seemed to space out. "I told you, your family was friends of my family. You think I don't overhear my mothers gossip to my father?" She looked back at me. "I'm surprised you don't want people to know, it would make my black heart cold to know people fear me." I chuckled. "Wednesday, I can't have people knowing about it." I shook my head with a sigh. "If people knew, I'd end up on Enids gossip page. I hate that fucking page. I love her but... the gossip she puts on there ruins people sometimes. She just has recently been taking it a bit too far."

Wednesday closed her book moving closer to me. She began to speak quieter. "Why do you really care if they know?" I looked into her eyes. "I don't want them to think I'm a monster." I whispered. A tear fell down my cheek at the thought of my parents and you get sister. I quickly wiped it away. Wednesday leaned back against her seat and opened her book again. "You will only be a monster if you really are one, and if you feel you aren't then why he scared of people knowing?" She said as her eyes moved across the page of her book. "I wish it was that simple. I mean you dont care what anyone thinks of you. I mean you let the school believe your a wierdo. But I don't think you are, I think you just don't care about what they think and that drives them crazy. They will do anything to get to you." I smiled to myself.

"It's always easy for me to not care about what they think. But sometimes I wish I could care a little more." She didn't take her eyes off the book as she spoke. I looked around the cafe and my eyes landed on a guy with dirty blonde hair he kept looking over here and once he saw I was looking at him he completely turned around. "Who's the guy over there, does he know you?" I looked at Wednesday. She looked over at the guy knowing exactly who I was talking about. "He's curious." She answered simply. "About..?" My curiosity stuck.

"What I'm reading." She said as she closed the book standing up. "I met him a little while ago, he reminds me of a lost dog. Always following someone around." She said walking out of the cafe. I raised my brows laughing to myself. I heard footsteps and looked up to see the guy sliding into the seat that once held Wednesday. I furrowed my brows. "If you want to know what Wednesday is reading don't ask me." I slouched back in my seat. "Ok wait please." He said with a slight hopeful look in his eyes. "I just need to know, who does she think did it? I need to make sure it's not someone I know." He said nervously. He couldn't hold eye contact with me. It made me smile.

"Well she didn't give me much Information about the monster in the woods so, I'm not useful to you." I shrugged. "Shit." He mumbled looking at the table. I thought for a moment. "Well. If you want I can find out and tell you." I smiled. He looked up at me with a smile. "That would be great." He replied.

"Yeah, I gotta go now so enjoy yourself....." I paused waiting for his name. "Oh tyler." He reached his hand out. "Tyler." I nodded. "See you around tyler" i stood up rejecting his hand shake. He awkwardly put his hand down and nodded. I walked out of the cafe and walked back to nevermore. I didn't mind the walk, I enjoy walking around especially at night. I find it calming.
