Samantha Dalton, the CEO of Dalton Enterprises, is dumbfounded when she meets hardcore no-nonsense Anna Schuyler in an interview to be the next Head of the Environmental Chemistry division at her biotech billionaire company, an interview that could...
(just a small side note - i've been working out the timeline to make sure that the timing of this chapter makes sense, and to clear things up, Anna and Sam first met in mid to late March, and thanksgiving in this book was 23rd November, so everything should make sense time-wise. hope you enjoy this weeks chapter!)
Anna's POV: "So talk. Don't say something like that and leave me hanging." i can practically hear Sam's knees shaking at the mere anticipation of her next words. My stomach plummets at the four words, the four syllables and the twelve letters that anyone in any romantic state fears being spoken. Nothing good ever comes from 'we need to talk'. "Considering you... have previously shown characteristics with the importance of traditional milestones, i know how much it means to you." "What are you talking about, 'traditional milestones'?" "Monogamy. Commitment. Love. I thought you realised from day one that i wasn't going to give you those things." all the confusion churning in my stomach quickly turns to anger, drawing out the ridiculously tense conversation even further. "And when have i ever asked you for them?" "You asked me what was to come from our... rendezvous-" "And you failed to give me an appropriate answer. Wondering about the future wasn't a crime last time i checked, Ms Dalton. If you're goinv to break up with me over the phone, at least have the decency to be upfront about it. You owe me at least that much, for gods sake." the rhythm of Sam's breathing demonstrates that she'd love nothing more than to run away, but the clearing of her throat regains the customary control she usuallly has. "I know this isn't what you want to hear Anna, but it's best if we end our relationship now. I have a child and a company to take care of, and i don't need any distractions." even though i knew this was where this conversation was heading, it still hurts deeply to hear the words themselves... i could unleash all of my emotions just like the flick of a light switch changing darkness to light, but instead, i bottle it all up. She's not worth my stone-cold wrath. "Then do. I'm not stopping you." "Yes you are! Being with you is too distracting." i can imagine Sam pacing around her bedroom, like a caged tiger. "Don't act like i'm the one with the problem. You perused me just as much as i perused you." "Ha! You think you made it easy?! You were always lurking around the corner, like a lion hunting it's prey. I couldn't escape!" the tap to my conscience is turning slightly... and i have no control over it. "Don't play the victim, Sam. You think you didn't give me any hints? You went on and on about how you'd take care of me. You'd tell me how beautiful i was, how much i meant to you, hell, introduced me to your daughter! Don't you fucking dare say that i am completely to blame, because we both know you're talking out of your ass." "Anna, calm down-" "No. I won't let you take my sanity from me like you took everything else. Goodbye... i'll see you for the Thanksgiving getaway." i hang up and press my face into my pillow, screaming in an unmissable passion, wishing the world would give me a break.

"I can't thank you enough for offering me a ride." Aaliyah says, sitting beside me in my car as i drive up along the snowy white road to get to my destination of the Dalton Enterprises' infamous Thanksgiving Cabin, the cosy building HR members and the CEO escape to everytime the holiday whisks around each year. "Think nothing of it. Are you sure i can't take you home?" "Quite sure. This is my first time visiting this area of the country, i'd like to explore." i take a gentle sip of my latte which i stopped for on the way here, anticipating a chill. "If you don't mind, i might tag along. I'm in no rush to get back to New York any time soon." i say with a deep, depressing sigh that hangs in the chilly air. "Tell me to back off, but is this to do with your mystery person?" it's as if this woman can read me like a freaking book... the feeling both warms me, yet terrifies me in a shocking way i've never experienced. "It is... although, i'm not quite sure there is 'a thing' anymore..." Aaliyah softly wraps her palm around my shoulder, the warm, honeyed touch one i relish in. It feels like decades since i've recieved some kind of loving contact from someone without it having some kind of drastic, unnecessary repercussions. If only Sam hadn't hurt me so much, maybe i'd trust this touch doesn't have any coming soon itself... "I'm sorry, Anna. You must be devestated." i raise a skeptical eyebrow at Aaliyah's calming, reassuring tone, one that confuses me to the very core. Noticing this, she candidly replies. "Problem?" "I just respect how kind your response was... i knew if i were you, my reaction would be very different." she chuckles mindlessly, a small laugh eroding gently out of her pretty mouth. "And what would your reaction have been?" as we thankfully hit a red light, i pull the car to a halt, reaching over to Aaliyah's welcoming body, longing to touch it. "May i?" after a look of caution, yet pure unsatisfied curiosity, "... mhm." with a sign of approval, and tracing only a few delicate, eager fingers, i let my index and middle fingers butterfly-flutter across her neck, one strengthening and pulsing down the slender curve. It's trail continues, progressing downward, lower and lower... until i find her nipple hard with arousal. "Oh!" i giggle darkly at Aaliyah's shocked response, dragging my fingers to form a tight bulb between them, Aaliyah's pink flesh pressed between them. "A-Anna, please..." "Please what?" "Please be gentle with me..." "I'll be as light as a feather, my love... you won't even know i'm here..." my oval-shaped nail scrapes softly against the tight, tight bud of Aaliyah's beautiful breast, my other arm longing to stretch over and occupy the other lonely breast. Each miniature touch i give Asliyah sends shock waves through her body, jumps and jolts occurring at every minor lightning strike. Unfortunately my ministrations are forced to an end as i notice the lights quickly change colour, and i restart the car, but i can still feel the after effects lingering around Aaliyah's hot, tense body like loving ghosts dancing in the air...
