Samantha Dalton, the CEO of Dalton Enterprises, is dumbfounded when she meets hardcore no-nonsense Anna Schuyler in an interview to be the next Head of the Environmental Chemistry division at her biotech billionaire company, an interview that could...
Sam's POV: Beautifully crafted snowflakes drizzle from the sky's endless cloudy abyss as i gaze out toward the white-hefty sky, which is filled with snow just waiting to grace us with its presence... taking me off guard, a pair of warm arms snake around my torso, holding me strongly and never wanting to let me go from their tight, tight embrace. "Mm, i know that hug anywhere... if it's not my girlfriend, i'll start screaming." the woman herself chuckles as she presses a kiss into my shoulder, forehead resting upon its bump. "Morning, my love... it's beautiful, isn't it?" i can't hold back an eye roll at Anna's deep, unnecessary love for snow. Rain is much better, in my opinion. "It's just shavings of ice trickling from the sky, sweetheart." "Exactly. What's not to love?" as our three year anniversary has come and gone, i've found myself managing to readjust to my partners own likings, whether i agree with them or not, similar to what i had to do when i entered the beloved world of marriage. After being on my own for so so long, it was a prospect i'd definitely have to consider letting back into my personality again. Twisting my body around, i hold her elbows in each of my palms, securing her body to fit closely into mine. Our warm winter pyjamas create a soft hug we've put together, which makes the loving kiss i initiate even more homely, as well as her head curling up into my breasts, turning to the side and her hands resting against my chest. When my arms curve around her back, i can feel her beating heart pumping eradicately inside her chest... "You nervous for today, my love?" "Of course i am... our families are meeting, why shouldn't i be concerned? For all we know, this could crash and burn..." i pull away from her saccharine-like contact on me, allowing myself to hold her face in my hands and offer her a light smile for comfort. "Everything will be fine. There's no reason for them to not get along..." and i damn well hope not, because what i have planned for today requires all the luck and happiness i can possibly lay my hands on...

After mine and Anna's relationship has been soaring the last few months for the greater good, we decided it was about time our families met each other, in the Dalton Christmas Getaway Cabin in Denver, Colorado. Myself, Anna and Kelsey arrived a few days earlier to prepare everything for our families arrival, which has proven to be a good idea considering the alcohol was opened the second everyone came through the door. "It's lovely to meet you, Sam. Thank you for treating my daughter with the kindness and respect she deserves. She speaks quite fondly of you." i cast a gleaming smile toward the suddenly turned shy other half, who's demurely tucking a hair strand behind a single ear and tilting her head downwards to avert anyone's gaze, purely mine. "I see..." "Don't look so smug, Samantha. You never stop talking about how smart and beautiful she is. You're hardly innocent yourself." folding my arms in the childish way i usually do, and rolling my eyes for the umpteenth time this entire evening, i decide to ignore my mothers rebuttal and take Anna's hand, keen to step away from the woman who raised me before she tells some kind of story from my childhood that will undoubtedly cause a great deal of embarrassment, as well as bring up unneeded and unwanted childhood trauma to my person. Mothers are great, aren't they? I bring us over toward the children's table, where my three triplet sisters are sat, occupying themselves by creating some interesting looking christmas decorations, and not fighting over some petty object as usual, which somewhat surprises me. "Hey, guys. What you up to?" "Hey, Anna! We're making christmas baubles! Wanna help us?" "Of course i do." she leans in and presses a kiss to my cheek before taking an empty seat around the table, "I'll only be a few minutes. Try not to get eaten alive." thankful Anna has left me alone, i use the time to finally seek out the one person who i've missed to my wits end, that's been there for me from day one... my sister, Serenity. "It's finally nice to meet the woman you've been raving about for the past four years." i toss my eyes toward the roof, as i'm sure i will be many times throughout this conversation. "She's quite something..." i turn around to look at the scene of Anna doing some sorts of crafts with my younger sisters, a warm smile on her face that's filled with kindness. "That she is..." "You've chosen well, Sam... i think she's the one for you." "So do i... i just hope she thinks the same..."
