AERO's POV

"There he is," I pointed towards the entrance of the dining hall. Parker walked in slowly wearing grey sweatpants and a red hoodie. I was glad he actually decided to show up, a part of me thought maybe he wouldn't want to leave his bed.

"Who's that with him?" Patrick asked curiously.

Walking next to Parker was a really tall, skinny blonde guy.

They walked over to the counter to pick out their food.

"And why is he sort of gorgeous?" Aurelie whispered as we watched them.

Patrick rolled his eyes and said, "I really wish I could disagree with you."

"I have no idea who that is," I told them. I shoved a piece of chicken into my mouth and took a sip from my water.

I felt my phone vibrate from the inside of my pocket so I took it out to look at it. It was a text from Thomas that said, "Dinner tonight?"

I texted him back ''Yeah sounds good," right before they sat down to join us.

Parker took the empty seat next to me and the new guy pulled over a charge from another table.

"What's up?" Parker said as he placed down his plate.

We all looked at him waiting for him to introduce his friend.

He looked between us all confused until he looked at the guy.

"Oh, right. This is Holden, my new roommate. This one is my sister Aero and those are her friends."

Aurelie introduced herself first then followed by Patrick.

I hadn't even thought about the fact that Parker would need a new roommate.

"Nice to meet you guys," Holden grinned before taking a bite of his food. He chewed quickly and asked, "Are you guys all second years?"

We nodded, and then I asked, "What about you?"

"Third year," he answered.

We all continued to eat creating silence at the table. After a couple of minutes, Aurelie asked, "So Parker, how was moving in?"

Parker shrugged and replied, "It was fine."

Aurelie pushed her lips together and nodded at him.

For whatever reason, the lunch was very awkward. No one knew what to talk about.

"I can't believe they found a body behind the market this morning," Patrick said breaking the silence.

"Wait they found a body, like a dead body?" Holden asked looking surprised.

Aurelie nodded and added, "Yeah! An 18-year-old girl was murdered!"

"Jesus," Holden shook his head. "That's terrible."

"Do they have any leads yet?" I asked curiously.

Patrick shook his head. "Nope, and it's kinda groundbreaking. It's the first murder here in over fifteen years."

"And she was a student here. Creepy," Aurelie shuddered after speaking.

"Everywhere we go, murder seems to follow," I mumbled while stabbing a piece of lettuce with my fork.

Parker cleared his throat quickly and then took a sip from his water.

Holden raised his eyebrows looking confused, but didn't say anything.

"Alright, we have to get to class," Aurelie sighed standing up. ''It was nice to meet you."

"See you on the flip," Patrick waved at us.
