In the streets, Avia and Donatello were carrying a very weak and injured Snarley while rushing to get to the nearest vet. Kathleen was on Avia's back while Chuck was on Donatello's head. Snarley started to feel worse. He just risked his life to save his friends' lives by tying up a guard by the neck while being attacked by stray dogs and one of them carried a fatal disease. Now, his life was really at stake. The animals kept rushing throughout the city. No matter how many cars drove and how many traffic lights turned red, the gang didn't stop. Not even the sound of people screaming or cars wrecking slowed them down. They kept running as fast as possible since it looked like Snarley was so close to death. The snake began groaning in pain and agony. "Hang in there, Snarley. We're getting there. Just a little bit longer." Avia said with the python's upper body in her mouth. "Please, stay with us. Donatello, are you sure we're going the right way?" "Kid, I've been in this city lots of times and I've walked on this street as long as I could recall!" Donatello answered strictly. "So just stick with me!" "Oh! This is just so stressful!" Kathleen said panicked. "First, the dog gets captured by animal control, and now we have a snake who is near possible death! Can this adventure not get any worse?!" The animals then started to notice that it was getting darker. The sun was setting. It was now dusk. "I stood corrected..." Kathleen said in defeat. Seeing that the sky was now getting darker and darker, Donatello realized one thing that made him worried. "Oh no..." He mumbled. "What? What is it? What's wrong?" Avia asked also concerned and worried. "It's dusk. I've heard about this vet before." Donatello replied. When the sun starts setting, the moon starts rising, and the sky starts darkening, the humans there start shutting the doors! So, we need to get there now!" "Wait! How could a vet close their doors early when there are clearly more animals out here that are sick or close to death?!" Kathleen asked in shock. "Beats me. Right now, we have to run so we can get there before the doors close if we want to save your new friend here! Now let's go!" Donatello said. The dog and Avia then started to pick up their pace. Their legs began running rapidly. Kathleen and Chuck were holding on with all their might. It was like horses galloping throughout the streets with riders on them. They were running nonstop. They kept running and running while Donatello was mostly leading the way.

After the big run throughout the city, they finally managed to reach the vet. The building looked different from Avia's vet in the cat's hometown though. It looked bigger and more clean and friendly looking. Inside, the room looked pretty clean as well. However, it looked almost empty, indicating that the vet was getting ready to close and that most of the doctors and nurses already went home. The animals then went to the front of the animal hospital where the entrance was. Snarley was too weak to open the door, so Donatello decided to do it. But before he could, he froze. There was another guard in there. It looked like she worked at the vet as well. It was also possible that she was hired to look after the vet and the animals staying there during the night. This indicated that she was a night guard veterinarian. "Oh! Do all buildings in this city have to have guards?!" Kathleen complained. "It's seems clear to me that they never heard of locking the doors and shutting windows! Why do they have to make things so complicated for us?!" "We now need to think of another plan to get inside, but what?" Donatello said as he started to think of another way to get inside without getting caught. Avia then looked down and noticed something that made her gasp. Little bits of foam were pouring out of Snarley's mouth as the snake started to shake a little as if we was having a seizure. "We gotta hurry! He's getting worse by this minute! Donatello, do something!" Avia cried in desperation. "Now hold on! We can't risk ourselves running in there just to get caught again! So, let me think for a second!" Donatello replied sternly. "Well, don't make it too long 'cause this snake here might already be seeing the light!" Kathleen yelled out. Donatello began thinking really hard and very quickly since Snarley's life was very important. Suddenly, something came into the dog's mind that got him on his paws. "Kid! You and your friends go hide somewhere and leave the snake here with me!" Donatello said to the rest of the animals. "Why?" Kathleen asked. "Just do it! I have an idea! Trust me! It'll be okay! I promise it will!" Donatello replied urgently. "But, Donatello, what if she sees you as a stray dog? You'll end up being trapped in there like what happened to you at the pound!" Avia said. "I'll be fine! Just go and hide! I got this under control! Trust me! We don't have much time! Go! NOW!" Donatello barked out. Avia, Kathleen, and Chuck took the dog's command and hid in a nearby bush as Donatello and Snarley remained at the door.
