A few months later, in a city far from New Urbem called Metroville, an owner was escaping from a huge crime scene. She had two grey cats, however, one of them was soon to be expecting, meaning one of them was pregnant and was soon about to have a kitten. It turned out the owner was trying to get her cats to the vet after discovering that one of them was going into labor. The owner actually turned out to be a widow and her cats were what kept her company. The owner was rushing to escape the crime scene and get to the vet, but the scene was too unbearable to get through. She had to find a nearby shelter quick before things got worse. She then sees an alleyway and hides herself and her cats inside, that way no criminal can spot them. Just as one of the cats was giving birth to her kitten, an unknown superhero with bird-like abilities flies in and stops the crime scene. After the criminal was arrested and peace was restored, the kitten was born. After the owner and her two cats saw the bird-like superhero, they decided to name her Avia. Avia had a great life as she grew up. She trained herself to become a fierce cat to protect her family whenever other feral cats came into her territory. She also had a huge fascination for superheroes ever since her parents told her that they and their owner were saved by one and named her based on the super's abilities. Avia had a book of superheroes that existed around the world. Whenever the world was in danger, she would always see superheroes saving people and the city both day and night. Avia would even sneak inside her owner's room to watch superheroes on TV. Avia didn't like when supers went into hiding before the law was changed and thought it was unfair since they were just misunderstood, but was now thankful and happy that they returned. In fact, due to her huge love for supers, she dreamed of being one someday. She even pretended she was a hero herself by leaping from edges, pouncing, running, fighting, and more. Avia had everything she wanted. She had an amazing life.

However, one night, Avia encounters a nasty looking feral calico cat in her yard. After seeing him as a threat, she goes out and starts fighting him like what a real hero would do to a villain while ordering him to flee and never return. She bit and scratched the stray everywhere while the stray also fought back. The two cats then both meowed and hissed both threateningly and aggressively at each other. Avia pounced on the calico cat and slapped and scratched his face. He then gets up to attack, but Avia bites his tail and continues scratching his fur. Just as Avia was about to finish him off, the calico cat had enough and started getting angry. Avia was just about to finish him off until...SLASH!!! The feral cat's claws scratched on Avia's left face where her eye was very hard. She screamed in agony as the feral cat ran out. Blood was even dripping from Avia's face. She started sobbing silently. Her parents then came outside. It turned out that they heard her scream. The parents were about to ask her if everything was all right, but immediately gasped in horror as they saw the blood on the ground and on their daughter's face. The mother cat even screamed at the sight in pure terror. Avia's left eye was closed due to the blood blocking her sight while her right eye was filled with tears. The parents immediately bought Avia inside the house and meowed at their owner. The owner then called the vet quickly after seeing the damage on the young cat's face. She took her cats in her car and drove to the vet immediately. When they finally got inside, the veterinarian took Avia in a room where the other veterinarians could do surgery on her and stop the bleeding. Unfortunately, due to the severe wound, the veterinarian told the owner that they would have to keep Avia until Saturday. Distraught and worried, the owner went home with her two cats, who were completely devastated about their daughter and her stay at the vet. They even hoped that she would be okay and that the surgery would go well. They so didn't want to lose their daughter after that huge attack, even though it was very serious and there was a close possibility of Avia passing after that and if the surgery failed. The thought of it even worried the two cats more.

While the owner was asleep, the two cats remained in the shed, next to the basement. The father cat was comforting the mother cat, who couldn't stop crying over her daughter's incident and her staying at the vet for three nights. Once she finally calmed down, the two cats went to sleep. They didn't know what to do if anything bad happened to their daughter. Seeing someone who you love deeply getting severely hurt could scar you possibly for life. And worst of all, losing someone who you loved dearly, especially a child, could leave a permanent hole in your heart like a tooth with a deep cavity that could never be filled. If anything like that happened to Avia, the parents would be more devastated and depressed and wouldn't be able to enjoy their life without mourning over the loss of their only daughter.

Three days passed, Saturday finally came, and everything was quiet. Even the two cats and owner were silent. They kept waiting and waiting until they would get a notification from the vet about Avia and hoped that she was all right and the surgery was a success. Finally, they get a notification from the vet that told them to come pick Avia up after saying that the surgery was a success. The owner and her two cats arrive at the vet. They waited patiently for Avia as pets with their owners came in and out of the door that led to an emergency room. Some pets were really sick. Some wore bandages and some wore cones. Some were even fixed with stitches on their bellies. Some had a few body parts missing from severe accidents, meaning that their severe broken limbs had to be amputated to avoid the animal being put down. Some pets were even on wheels, indicating that they were paralyzed. Seeing the other pets with different damages only worried the cats more for their daughter. What kind of damage would she have? Being blind in her left eye since it was exposed to the hard scratch was a huge possibility for Avia. Time passed until the room was empty. All that was left in the waiting room were the owner and her two cats. Suddenly, the door opened and revealed the veterinarian with Avia, was limping slowly and looked very tired due to the anesthesia still inside her. She had a bandage on the left side of her face that was covering her left eye like a pirate eye patch. Like some of the pets that walked in and out of the door, she had a cone around her neck. She looked miserable, but was thankfully alive and well. The cat parents and owner were happy to see her again after three days of worry. The veterinarian then told the owner that Avia needed to stay inside and keep her bandage and cone on for three months until she was almost completely healed. Days passed and Avia continued her life with the patch and cone on while looking through her superhero book. Whenever there were times that Avia needed some assistance, her parents and owner would come to her aid and do everything they could to help be in balance while doing certain tasks, whether it was using the bathroom, walking to another place, eating, or drinking. She even followed the vet's rules and stayed inside with her patch and cone on and never complained, but was still miserable.

Three months finally passed, and it was time to take the cone and patch off of Avia. The owner placed Avia on the counter in the kitchen and slowly removed her cone. She then unwrapped the cat's the eye patch carefully. Avia's left eye was still closed, but after a few seconds, it slowly opened it. She saw everything blurry in her left eye until after another few seconds, it focused again. She could now see with both of her eyes well again and was not partially blind. It was a miracle indeed. Avia may have been all right now, but she still had to take it easy. Avia then noticed a shocked expression on her owner's face after the human saw the wound remaining on the cat's face, leaving Avia confused. The owner then put Avia on the ground and the cat headed in the bed room where she could meet her parents. The reason why they had to move into the bedroom was because they didn't want the dirty shed to infect her now healing wound. The two cats saw Avia and were happy and shocked at the same time. Avia was curious about their reaction. She was wondering why everyone is so shocked to see her now. Was there something about the wound that made them react in utter surprise? Avia turned around to see a mirror and that's when she saw it. On the left side of her face throughout her eye was a pink scar in the shape of the letter, "V". Like normal scars, this one was to remain permanent. Avia was also shocked by this. What was on her face changed her appearance forever. The two cats then embraced their daughter in a cuddly family hug. Avia may have looked different now, but there was something about her scar that got the two cats smiling warmly, confusing the young cat. Maybe it was because the wound reminded them of something....or someone they remember. But who?
