Why him? (Cato love story)

Chap. 3

"Mandy, wake up Sleeping Beauty." I hear someone say.

I open my eyes and turn to see Cato leaning over my bed.

"What are you doing here?" I ask tiredly.

"I wanted to see you."

"Why wake me up?"

"Because Ellie wants us up, we have training."

I lay limp and stare up at him.

"I suggest you do it before Brutus comes in and drags you."

I go wide eyed and jump out of bed looking for my clothes. I find them and throw them on with Cato shacking his head at me, silently chuckling.

"Okay, I'm ready." I say a little out of breath.

"One minute."

He comes up to me and wraps his muscle-y arms around my small waist.

"I love you Mandy."

"I love you too."

He leans down and presses his lips to mine and kisses me tenderly. I pull away.

"We better go." I say.

"Uh, yeah."

I start laughing and he smiles.

When we got to the training room only district 1 was there.

"Hey, I'm Glimmer. What's your name sexy?" The girl says.

What kind of name is Glimmer?!

"Cato and this is my girlfriend Amanda." He says and glares at the guy. He was checking me out shamlessly.

"Hi, you are?" I ask him.

"Marvel. Too bad you guys are taken, I guess me and Glimmer have to hunt some other prey." He replies.

"Wanna be allies?" Cato asks. I love how straight forward he could be.

"Yeah! Us careers must stick together." Glimmer says.

When the other districts filed in the arena, we all started training. Cato got some knives and a sword, Marvel got a spear, Glimmer took a bow and I grabbed some knives. Cato, Marvel and I hit every target dead on. Glimmer on the other hand was off using everything.

"Who took my knife?!" Cato yelled suddenly. "It was you!" He grabs the boy from... 6?

"No, I swear!" The boy yells.

Cato started freaking out so me and a peace keeper calmed him down, so he wouldn't kill anyone.

Once he finally did, I took him to the survival stations. We both did pretty well.

THUMP!

Me and Cato turned to see what had happened.

"Hahaha!" Me and the careers laughed.

It was the boy from 12, he fell pretty badly. Suddenly Fire girl walks over to him and whispers something. 12 gets up and grabs a giant weight and Marvel snorts. He throws it and goes a good distance.

"That was good." I say smiling.

"Thanks." He says quietly.

The others all snort and leave.

"What's your name?" I ask.

"Peeta, 12. You?"

"Amanda, 2." I reply. "Well I better get back to my boyfriend, Cato, he'll get angery. Bye."

"Wait! He's your boyfriend?"

"Yeah, he usually isn't like this. I think he's worried about his sister."

I trun and walk away and go back to Cato.

"What did he want?" Cato asks worriedly.

"Nothing, I wanted to know more about him, get to know his weaknesses. Easier to kill." I say.

"That's a good idea." Glimmer says smiling.

"As long as he didn't try anything." Cato says.

"He didn't."

"Good!"

"Let's go to our rooms." I say.

"Okay, night Cato, Amanda!" Glimmer says.

"Night hot stuff, Cato!" Marvel says. Marvel still hits on me but to be funny.

All of us were now already close. Even me and Glimmer were like bestfriends already.

Me and Cato walk to the elevator.

"I love you." Cato says.

"I know."

"What? No I love you too?"

"I love you too, Cato."

"Good."

He hugs me then carries me to his room.

"Here." He says handing me one of his shirts.

"Thanks."

I got changed and climb into his bed. He puts on some shorts and climbs in next to me.

"Love you, g'night beautiful. Sleep well."

"We have lessons tomorrow right."

"Yes, so get to bed baby. Sleep tight." He wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me close.
