There we go again!

———————————————-

I peeked through my eyelids as nothing happended. Joe was pointing the gun directly at my head, his hands shaking. His knuckles had become white around the grip of the weapon.

"Go on.", I whispered.

"I c-can't!"

I opened my eyes, "Please Joe, don't make it harder as it already is."

He shook his head and lowered the gun, "No, I just can't do it!"

"Then what's your plan?"

He hesitated, "I don't know...Meet with the others and then find a way together?"

I sighed, but I knew how hard it must have been for him. Shooting the girl he had shared a bed with one night ago. But I wanted HIM to do it. I didn't know why, but I felt like he was the last one on this goddamn planet how actually cared for me. It just had been two days, but we kind of bounded.

Joe helped me climb on top of the roof from where we made our way to Green Park. We walked in silence, I tried to ignore the burning pain in my leg. I tried to keep myself from imagining how I would turn into one of those things. Attacking the others, craving for their flesh. I shook my head to get rid of the thoughts. I decided to talk instead.

"Have you ever thought about what happened to Tyler and Co.?", I asked.

He didn't answer right away, "...I didn't think about anything like that after I witnessed Oli trying to rip Caspar into pieces."

Great Skye, now you reminded him that his friend is...what, dead?

"Oh, I'm sorry. Is he...now?"

Joe sighed, "He's dead, yes. Had to use my camera stative to...stop him."

Oh god, he had to kill one of his best friends, that was even worse than killing me! And in plus Oli is...was one of the lovliest human beings on this earth. I decided that asking more would made everything worse, so we said nothing again. Luckily the others were already waiting for us, so the awkward silence wouldn't continue.

Jim immediatly realized that something was wrong, "Are you guys okay, what happened?"

Joe and I exchanged a look, then I lifted my trouser leg.

Phil gasped, "Oh god, no! What happened?"

Joe shrugged, "They somehow got us at the Burlington Arcades."

Jim frowned, "Burlington? Why even did you go there?"

The shorter guy stared at him, "What? Is it my fault now? I'm sorry, I didn't know what to do against a pack of creatures trying to eat her! What would YOU have done, huh? I'M SORRY OKAY?"

"Joe, calm down!", I demanded.

He quickly turned to me, "YOU! You shut up, you wanted me to kill you!"

Caspar shrugged, "Maybe for the best."

Joe laughed bitterly, "Yeah, you can say that, you didn't hold the gun! We won't kill her, IS THAT CLEAR?", he looked at me, "At least not until she turns."

Jim crossed his arms, "What do you want to do? Wait until she wants to eat you and kill her THEN?"

Joe nodded angrily, "Makes it a lot easier."

I raised my hands, "Have I got an opinion here?"

He fired angry looks at me, "NO! SHUT UP!"

"Guys!", Dan pushed Joe a bit to the side, "Why don't we go back at first so we're safe at least? Phil needs a rest and we all do, too. Can we both stay there actually?"
