Y/n's POV

"Is it true that soldiers used to practice ballroom dancing with each other?" Sheryl asked me. "As silly as it might seem, that is true" I replied to her. "What really?" Victoria asked me. "Yes it is true, I was the only woman here and they wanted to dance well for the ball so they taught each other" I explained. "Why did you not dance with them?" Gabriella asked. "They never asked me, that is why" I said to her. "Did they need you is the real question" Amabel said. "To be quite honest, no" I said. "That is shocking" Alexia said.

I got up and started cleaning up a bit.

"At first, that would be shocking news, but when you realize how hard they worked, it became less shocking. They were truly dedicated to becoming better dancers. I have seen men with two left feet become better dancers than the ones you would see on stages" I recalled the amazing dancing I would see in the military tents. "Did you ever dance with anyone at the balls?" Alexia danced. "I have been invited to a few but I never danced" I said. "Why not?" Victoria asked me, a little disappointed. "Well...when I was really young it was quite awkward since I was the youngest and no one dared to ask a girl. The most recent ball was a little hard for me...the man who had asked me passed away" I explained.

The girls' expressions dropped, they no longer were starry-eyed. Instead, their faces captured devastated looks.

"Do not give me that look, I already told you girls not to feel bad for me" I said to them. "But Y/n, that is so sad. I always thought you were a little hostile but you were just hurt very badly and learning these things  humanizes you in a way" Amabel explained to me. "You thought I was dehumanized?" I asked her, trying to hide my offense. "Well...I kinda agree with her, you are quite intimidating but you have a good heart" Gabriella explained. "Oh...I never do it intentionally" I replied to her. "It becomes very hard to tell at times" Sheryl said.

I let out a sigh and looked at the girls. I taught them and I knew they would be amazing nurses once I am done with them.

"Hey, hunn-pie" I heard the voice of a certain imbecile.

I turned my head and saw him poking his head into the medical area. I looked back and the girls.

"Off to bed, if I hear you talking about this I can assure you there will be consequences" I spoke sternly.

In less than an instant, the girls headed to their room. I looked back at Moran angrily.

"If you are not here for what we are working on, you can leave" I said to him, without giving him a chance. "I actually came for another rea-" "Leave" I cut him off mid-sentence.

He looked puzzled.

"Why are you acting like this Y/n?" he asked me before coming closer to me.

I was starting to get impatient with him.

"I do not know if you are trying to provoke me like some overgrown child or if you actually want to be a mature adult" I replied, blinking rapidly. "Why are you always poking insults at me Y/n! You are not the same girl I knew" Moran was getting emotional. "You have some courage coming here and saying that I have changed!" my voice got a little louder.

Moran took a deep breath in and tried to keep his composure.

"Let me hear this" he said. "Fine, give me your full attention and take me seriously" I said to him.

His eyebrows raised.

"How could you think I never take you seriously?" he asked a dumb question. "How could I think you never take me seriously? Let me start off with the fact that you faked your own death! Oh and you never sent me a letter and came back for me, Albert is the reason you know I am well! Let me not mention how you sleep around with women!" I was yelling at this point. "Y/n it was never like that" he said.

I opened my mouth and my throat felt as if needles were in it.

"Never like that? It was countless women, imagine how many are caring for your children! You still think you are a child and you never take responsibility for your actions. Would you like to know something shocking?" I asked him. "Let me hear this Y/n what other shocking news are you going to tell me" he started yelling too. "I was in love with you Moran! I wanted a life with you and just the thought of you being with another woman makes me want to die! I dreamt about being with you for a long time...but that was in the past. I am aware that hate is a strong word but it is perfect for right now!" I said.

His eyes softened and he looked a little hurt, but he deserved a good yelling at.

"You don't mean that" he said. "Oh I know exactly what I mean, I lost everything yet I came to you and you were all I had. I promised not to meet another man because I loved you and you were my everything...apparently to you I was just entertainment" I said with a tear rolling down my cheek.

Moran walked over to me and wrapped his hands around me. For a second, I wanted him to stay there, and then I pushed him away.

"Get out of here, before I tell the general" I threatened him.

He walked out and then stopped.

"No matter how many women I have slept with, no one was like you" he said before leaving for good.

I picked up a glass bottle and threw it at the door in frustration. I sat down and punched the table before pouring myself a drink.

How could I let someone hurt me like that?

Third Person POV

The girls had heard everything but decided to stay silent; knowing that Y/n was beyond upset, they would not dare try to make it worse.
