Chapter 22 Forever and ever and ever

As me and Naomi exited the bathroom together, we saw Ethan outside waiting for us. "Hey um.... Whoa Naomi you are stronger than I thought" Ethan exclaims with a big approving smile. "I try my best" Naomi replies chuckling as we all begin walking back to the table. Well, those 2 were walking. I was still being carried by Naomi and trying not to squeal in happiness too much. "So... everything went okay in there, with the ex?" Ethan asks while we are not quite at the table yet. Naomi breathes in and bites her lip a bit. "I don't know what happened... I forgave her but I don't know if I should've..." Naomi explains with less confidence. "Well... whatever happened, your ex ran out, yelled at her friends, broke up with her boyfriend, cried and then left the venue...I know she was awful but I almost feel bad.." Ethan explains sounding serious. "Well... her friends would know what she was about to do... Alice doesn't really do things on her own...she does stuff for approval of others.... But maybe not anymore" Naomi explains with slight hesitation in her voice. Naomi looked out the window for a bit then breathed out heavily. "Um Naomi... does that mean Alice already told her social circles about us... we can go home early if someone says something mean" I suggest while looking straight into her eyes. "I want to stay here with you... I'm not afraid of their opinions" Naomi explains while gently letting me down back on the ground. "Besides, you will be safe princess, she only had a chance to tell them about me. But I know you are here for me... you always are... so I want to be here for you" Naomi explains with a gently smile while holding my hand. "If you are comfortable staying ... then I'd love to stay here with you... and maybe still dance together if you are up for that" I suggest nervously. "Let's do it, Princess" Naomi repleis while guiding me by hand to an open space near the table with the others.

The music has been loud all night. But right now it was as if I could only hear Naomi's breath. We setup in the position we practiced. "I'm... really happy we get to do this" I say into Naomi's ear beginning to tear up happily. "You've always wanted this kind of thing right... a Princess's royal ball dance... you even tried to work in a dance in our princess knight pretend games... but I always got too shy to dance with you... but now, Emily. I want to be here with you, as our authentic selves... and finally make that dream come true." Naomi explains tenderly as we begin swaying to the music. The music was rather upbeat pop, but we managed to adjust our speed to it. Naomi spun me around, bringing me in soon after. She softly kisses my forehead and she spins me back outwards. We smile brightly, I may be on verge of the happiest tears but I took in every second of this moment. This really is the romantic moment of my dreams. The venue had various glass mirrors, decorations and more. It was easy to see our reflections as we danced. I almost couldn't believe it. I was in the kinda dress I could only dream of, dancing with my childhood best friend. My best friend who is also now my girlfriend. The person I was most afraid to come out as trans to one day, is also trans. Our whole childhood we were going through something similar.

Throughout our dance, some of the others from our table began cheering. Once attention was on us, Naomi blushed a little. I kissed her softly and did various spins to spice up our dance. Both me and Naomi had the biggest smiles on our faces. Things were healing, things are getting better. I felt happiness that I could never describe with words
