You know what's makes a good, catchy song. The drumbeat. Take Helena Beat by Foster the People. The drumbeat is awesome, and I like the song. Shatter Me, Bet My Life, On Top of The World, Roundtable Rival, Crystallized, Elements, Pumped Up Kicks, Houdini, and so much more are awesome songs with good drumbeat. In field band, the battery are the drummers for the music. AND they are weird. I will now share with you something I wrote about them in 8th grade. If you ever read the book Sleeping Freshmen Never Lie then you would understand the assignment.
1. The Drummer: Funny, almost never can keep his hands still, usually plays little beats that sound good together, crazy, likes to jam with other drummers/friends, plays on the bus to and away from shows.
I have other stuff that came after this, but I'm not putting it on. I wrote that for 8th grade English. I personally love listening to the battery of the Marching Band because I really don't know. They do really cool ditty's, especially during a parade while the band's not playing. The drummers play these beats to energize the crowd, and in turn, the band. If you want to hear some of the drummers in my school's marching band, then listen to the video I hopefully attached to this page. It's from the last run of the show The Heist, before we performed it in MetLife Stadium for USSBA championships Group 4. I'm lucky that they used a GoPro. You'll see me in it, as I'm wearing the purple coat and Cookie Monster hat. I'm spinning a tube.
