For the next few days after school me and Jordan would go over each other's houses and just hang. We became really close and I think she started to like me more. The weekend was great. Friday she came over and we watched a scary movie and I comforted her at the scary parts. Saturday she said she couldn't meet up because her little sister was having a birthday party but I saw her at the park and I celebrated with them. On sunday we were on the phone for hours.

When Monday's track practice came along we were paired up to race obviously and when we heard the whistle we both sprinted. My best mile was 5.46. Her best mile was 5.52. I don't know about her but I ran harder than I ever had before. And she was right there with me. At the end I knew I was beating her by maybe a split second.

I ran and I moved my feet. I had to beat her. To rub it in her face. You know in a cute way. Because I like her. My sweat flew off my forehead and I could see her at the corner of my eye. The finish line was so close but it felt like twice the length I had already ran. Everything was in slow motion. Every sound I heard, every cheer coming out of the teams mouth, every foot that pounded on the track, even when I blinked I felt like my eyes were closed for a nighttime of sleep. My heart racing, I think I could hear every body else's. This is it, I think. It all come downs to this moment. I only hear my timer click. But Jordan is right next to me.

"Well, well, well, Mr. Payne and Miss Jordan" Coach says, "you both beat your record with a 5.37" and everyone cheers. When time stops now all I do is look at Jordan. I smile when she looks back and I pick her up and spin her around. When I lower her we kiss and she laughs out of joy, I hope. Then I realize that it is dead silent. We look around and when I see Taylor she starts to slowly clap. I clap with her and then Jordan looks down as everyone cheers louder.

"Sorry Jordan" I say as we lay down next to each other on the grass as everyone is leaving practice, "I don't think it is a secret anymore." she laughs an rolls on her side, "Call me Allie, I want you to call me something different." she smiles and I roll over on my side so that we are face to face. "Ok, Allie" I say kissing her. I could get used to this.
