A young man sits on a green hill overlooking a lake. He wears a fleece cream jacket, and light wash jeans, with white platform converse. He leans his head in his hands, frowning as he watches people walk around holding hands, and laughing with one another. He has been at college for 2 months and he has not been able to make one friend yet. He always had this problem, never being able to make friends. But he thought college would be different.

The man is Xie Yuchen, the son of an affluent family. The family is known for keeping Beijing opera alive, but they also operate in a more shady business. He went to this college to get away from his family, and to finally try to get some independence. He himself was a performer and has been performing since a young age. His name is known in some circles, and he was known for his looks. Feminine yet masculine at the same time. His father led the family and he was supposed to be next in line. He has many years to prepare to take over the family, but the older he gets the more worried he gets about operating a large business like that. He knows he needs to experience life as a young adult before his father passes and he is the lone person in the family. His mother had passed away when he was young. He had fond memories of her, but he wishes he had more. He sighs watching the people.

But he longed to be home, in his own bed. He longed to be with his friends back home. Well the two that he had, but it was enough for him. You did not have time to make friends when you were busy preparing to take over a family fortune one day. He should go back to his dorm room soon. It was getting a bit humid out, and he felt the sweat on his arms from his jacket. It was fall, and the weather was changing hourly. He was getting a new roommate today so he was not in the mood to actually head back though. He can just chill in the lounge at least to kill some time before he needs to do homework for class tomorrow.

He feels something itchy on his face. He tries to brush it off but he still feels so he yanks out his phone. He opens the camera to look at his face. His skin is fair, light brown freckles sprinkle his face. His eyes are a chocolate brown. Long eyelashes, and brown hair. He has it parted in the middle, as the bangs hang on the side of his face. He had not cut his hair in a while and it was becoming a mullet, but it looks good on him. He locks the phone and tosses it in the grass. He lays back on the grass and stares at the sky not knowing that someone was watching him from a rock close by.

This person was also a young man. He wears an oversized black sweatshirt. Black ripped jeans and combat boots. His inky black hair was parted in the middle, but his hair was longer. It was pulled into a loose ponytail in the back of his head, some pieces were not in the ponytail and hung around his neck. His bangs framed his face. He was quite attractive, one could even say he was a model. He sucks on a lollipop and he wears sunglasses even though it was cloudy out. He stares at the man on the hill, the complete opposite of him. He was pretty even from afar. Too pretty to even approach. He sighs and looks out over the lake, resting his chin on his knees. This is Hei Yan Jing, an enigmatic man. He always wears shades even when it is not sunny out. He has a background that normal people could not pinpoint, but otherwise he was an open book. He only spoke about one father, but did not give names nor a career. So a lot of people assumed he was an orphan who got into the school because of pity.

But actually, he was at the college based on grades. And this year, he was here on full scholarship for his grades and talent.

He takes out his phone and scrolls through his email. He sees that he got an email saying that his new housing assignment was ready. He smiles and closes his eyes. The air was humid but he needed to move today, he had already packed up his room. His old roommate was someone who parties and always had different women over, so he was able to get a new assignment. Hopefully with someone who just focused on studies. He stands up and runs to the housing office, passing by hordes of students. He has a pair of over the ear headphones on, drowning out the voices of people. He walks in and removes his headphones walking up to the person at the front desk.
