Chapter 6 : The Xie Mansion

They do not speak about what happened 2 days ago. Xie Yuchen was tense, rethinking the incident over and over again, but Hei Yan Jing was back to acting normal. He was still working but he promised Xie Yuchen that he would quit his job over the holiday season. Xie Yuchen hopes that the man is telling him the truth. Xie Yuchen rents a car to drive them to his family's home so Hei Yan Jing does not have to worry about it.

Hei Yan Jing comes out to the car with both of their suitcases while Xie Yuchen warms the car up. It was cold that day and his hands were shoved into his pockets. Hei Yan Jing puts the suitcases into the car and smiles at the younger man.

"You look cold", he says. Xie Yuchen chuckles at that. "Come here", Hei Yan Jing says. Xie Yuchen walks up to him and Hei Yan Jing puts his hands in the younger man's pockets. He wraps his hands around his hands. "Better?" he whispers. Xie Yuchen looks at his eyes and smiles. This felt too intimate but everything they did felt like that. Like they were dating without actually dating. It was weird, and he did not know how to approach those feelings. He can not wait to see Huo Xiu Xiu and yell at her about everything that was happening.

"The car is warmed up now", Xie Yuchen whispers. He didn't realize they were leaning their foreheads against one another. He moves his head a bit and he stares at the man's lips. Hei Yan Jing nods his head and they separate. He walks to the passenger seat and Xie Yuchen climbs in behind the wheel. This was the first time that he was driving the older man and he felt weird about it. He puts the car into drive and they set out to the mansion. They speak about normal things during the trip.

Xie Yuchen pulls into the driveway of the mansion. Hei Yan Jing looks up at the building. It was huge and ornate. He gets out of the car and helps Xie Yuchen take the suitcases and bags out. Suddenly a servant appears with some other people and they bow at Xie Yuchen.

"Xie Ye", the man says. "Welcome home".

Xie Yuchen nods his head at that and they take the bags. "I was told that the guest rooms were already filled up by family and friends, so you will stay with me".

"Oh?" Hei Yan Jing says. "This is no different than normal so that is fine".

"We have an air mattress for you if that is fine", Xie Yuchen says. "My room is essentially a suite so you will have space. There is an adjoined bathroom and a small living area". He starts to walk forward and Hei Yan Jing follows him.

"Is your bedroom bigger than the dorm room?" Hei Yan Jing asks. He is walking next to Xie Yuchen. The younger man nods his head. He suddenly stops and turns around grabbing the older man's hands.

"Listen, do not mention your association with this field. Do not mention the Zhang or the Qi family", Xie Yuchen says. His face is grim, and Hei Yan Jing suddenly feels the shift from college student to young master of a rich family. "If they find out then all conversations will be about that and they will try to use you".

Hei Yan Jing nods his head. Xie Yuchen smiles at him and they continue walking. He grabs a servant. "Take him to my bedroom, I need to see my father". The servant nods their head and Hei Yan Jing is led away from Xie Yuchen. He frowns and looks around the space. They had antiques all over the place and he smiles as he sees them. It made him feel at home. He goes into the bedroom and the servant closes the door behind him. The air mattress was already made up and was located right near the main bed in the room. The bed was a large king bed, and there was more than enough space for the two of them. He climbs onto the air mattress and lays down thinking about the upcoming days. He was so nervous about being alone with just Xie Yuchen and his family. The door opens and Xie Yuchen enters the room. He looks at the air mattress and he realizes it is smaller than his own bed. He sighs and nudges Hei Yan Jing.
