Pov- you have a crush on your friend Russell and he ends up liking you back?

"Russell you are going to fail if you don't get this done!"

"you sound like my mom"

"I'm your friend Russell and i want you coming into tenth grade with me but that won't happen if you fail your class!"

"fine I'll get it done"

"I know you will because I'll make sure you do"

"what are you going to stalk me?"

"if I have to, yes"

"Oooo stalker"

"oh shut up you wish i would stalk you"

"Howd you know?"

i roll my eyes and go back to finishing my homework, it was a Friday night and me and Russell were sat in my bedroom doing homework and i was trying my best to get Russell to do his work that he was badly missing out on and we only had a few more weeks to get everything before the end of nineth grade.

"why are you such a nerd" he says looking down at his notebook then places it on my bed and looks down at my paper.

"I'm not a nerd just because I'm smarter then you Russell, if that was the case everyone would be a nerd"

"ouch" he says holding onto his heart i roll my eyes and look back down at my paper, me and Russell have been friends since fourth grade and since then we were like glued together we were always together and i mean always. it's so bad that Russell's mom is like my second mom we were always next to each other at school and even out of school we were skating boriding together or just hanging out at my house.

one thing Russell doesn't know if for two years now i have had a huge crush on him and it was starting to piss me off how dumb he could be, i was giving him so many hints like holding onto his hand while we walked home but all he did was smile at me!? i swear i was being as out there with it as i could but i guess not because he still hasn't said anything.. maybe it's because he doesn't like me back and he thinks if he just ignores it my feelings for him will go away?

god why are crushes so annoying!

"y/n?"

"hm?"

"you okay?"

"Ya I'm okay just zoned out"

"can we please take a break!"

"and do what?"

"i don't know play video games?"

"hm sure" i say closing my notebook and hurrying my way down stairs Russell hurrying behind me, i skip the last two steps and run into the living room until i hear a thug. i look back and see Russell on the floor and i of course couldn't help but burst out laughing he just laughs too and sits up before getting back to his feet and running past me and jump over the couch and grabbing the remote.

i hurry over and sit next to him grabbing the other remote, we start a new game and like always we were both trying to distract us to win the game. i shove my hand in front of Russell face making him drive of the track letting me win, once the winning screen shows up i stick my hands in the air.

"winner!!"

"you are such a cheater!" he says shoving me i just stick my tongue out at him and take a drink of my water and start a new game while i was popping a candy into my mouth i see Russell staring at me i look at him confused and pause the game.

"what?"

"Julie told me something yesterday" i was even more confused me and Julie used to be really close in nineth grade and she was the first one to know about my huge crush on Russell but we drifted apart throughout the year because we were both just two different and i just couldn't be her friend anymore.. 

"Julie still talks to you?" i ask he shrugs

"not really just when she wants to, but she told me something"

"okay and what did she tell you?" i say taking a drink of water 

"that you like me"

my eyes widened and my cheeks turn bright red as i start coughing on the water that was in my mouth i hurry to swallow and starting coughing, once i stopped dying i looked at Russell shocked.

"what?"

"she told me you liked me.. like a lot"

"are you dumb!?"

"what?" he says confused

"I've been sending you some many signs for the last few month but it took you for Julie to tell you for you to finally notice!?"

"wait huh-?"

"I've been holding your hand, giving you my candy and complementing you what did you think all that was for?"

"you just being nice..?"

"i give nobody my crap Russell"

"true.. so it is true that you like me?" he says i just groan and nod

"yes"

"cool" 

"cool..."

"Ya cool"

"that's all you're going to say?"

"what do you want to say?"

"uhm i don't maybe oh Ya i like you back y/n"

"oh, okay Ya i like you too"

"there you go"

"so do you want to be my girlfriend?" he ask with a dumb smile.

"yes Russell i want to be your girlfriend"

"okay nice"

"but I'm still beating you ass in video games"

"Ya right"

i grin and resume the game before quickly kissing Russell on the cheek making him turn his head to look at me in surprised allowing me to get a head start..

i knew dating Russell wasn't going to be like anything you see in the movies that's not the way me and Russell were but at least i knew he liked me back and hopefully this weird teen relationship would go somewhere.

i sure hope it does..
