Chapter 11: the question

Today was the day, the devil was gonna walk out that door, see dice working, get on one knee and ask the question. He wasn't sure dice would accept but he wanted to keep dice all to himself. He and dice could rule all of hell together and take over inkwell isles together, side by side. Devil was fine about the whole proposal thing but his mother didn't just want him to mary dice, she wanted him and dice to make an heir to the casino which would be the hardest part because he and dice had never talked about having children ever.

After he was done getting ready there was a knock on the bedroom door, "come in henchmen." henchmen walked in holding the telephone on a tray "uh boss your mother's calling." devil groaned he didn't feel like talking to he because she wouldn't make it to see her son propose. At this point, he wasn't even thinking about inviting her to the engagement party. "You know what just tell her ill call her back later." Henchmen followed his boss's orders and picked up the phone "Excuse me miss Luci but the boss said he will call you back later." "Oh no, he won't he will listen to his mother and pick up this phone now!"

Little flames came out of the phone causing henchmen's ear to burn a little. "You heard her boss here just talk to her it seems pretty important." He handed devil the phone. "Yes? what is it mother?" he groaned. "Stop using that tone with me before I smite you through the phone mister!" She screeched. He sighed. "I'm sorry mother what are you calling about I don't have much time?' 

"See you can try, try, try and try but you can't beat me I'm the best at every game here so pay up." dice laughed as the customer handed over the cash. "ah screw you!" the customer walked away, flipping dice off. Dice sat at the table drinking his whiskey and looking at his casino seeing how nice, clean, wild, and busy it was. He was disturbed by chips sitting down next to him "Howdy boss!" he tipped his hat. "What is it chips you wanna play a game of poker?" he asked. "Sounds tempting but no I need your help with something." he scratched the back of his head.

Every employee in the casino knew that if they had advice they could go to dice. "What is it now?" He turned around. "Well, I think I'm in love.." Dice's eyes widened. "in love?? With who?" chips looked behind dice and his pupils formed into the shape of hearts. Dice turned around and saw wheezy. "Wheezy!?" He looked worried. "yeah.. ain't he a catch?" Chips dreamed. "no no no chips you can't love a man like wheezy he's all kinds of bad." he shook chips. "well I can't help it I just do I wanna tell him bad." He sighed. Suddenly the casino went quiet and the giant red doors that opened the casino swung open.

A red velvet carpet was rolled out to the end of the casino, smooth jazz began to play, and everyone turned their heads as little imps with rose petals dumped them on the floor. Dice was alarmed by the sounds so he stood up and walked to henchman who was playing saxophone. "Henchmen what the hell is going on this is disturbing the casino!" he whispered. "calm down dice you'll see." Dice walked to the edge of the red carpet and crossed his arms. The music was still playing and more little demons were dropping petals everywhere making his casino a mess.

"Where is devil because whatever this is he wouldn't like his casino being a mess." He shouted. No more demons were coming out from the door and all the demons turned to the door and out walked the devil looking tall and dark. He was wearing a suit looking nice and handsome. He was walking down the carpet and up to dice, he was sweaty and shaking while taking deep breaths in. He stopped and looked at dice who looked very confused, got on his knees, and poured his heart out "Dice we've only been together for a few months but I feel like I've known you forever, I've been alive for many years but never has anyone made me feel the way you do your an amazing person inside and out, your an amazing boyfriend, boss, manager and best friend so what I'm tryna say is.."

Devil pulled out the flaming hot ring "Will you marry me and become the king of hell, you and me against the world?" Everyone in the casino clapped. Dice looked around at all the people with tears in his eyes he felt light-headed, things were moving too fast, and he couldn't comprehend what was going on. "Dev things have been going great between us but I'm sorry no." He ran out of the casino and the crowd went quiet. The music stopped and the devil was on the floor by himself with everyone staring at him. Lava tears began to fall from his face and burn the carpet. He was so angry with himself, he made dice uncomfortable and made him cry.

He then remembered whose idea it was, his mother's. He looked at everyone who was staring at him. "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU ALL LOOKING AT!?" He yelled. Everyone turned around while the henchmen went to comfort him but the devil got angry and threw the henchmen and went into his room. This made the henchmen realize that he had to find dice and make things right so his boss could be happy again. "Alright everyone casinos closed out all of you!" he yelled clearing everyone out. "Now you guys clean up this mess and be as quiet as you can we don't want the boss having any more outbursts," he commanded. "Wait where the hell do you think you're going your devil's closest worker shouldn't you be supporting him?" pirouette asked.

"I'm gonna go find dice and fix everything so the boss can be happy!" He said flapping his little wings. "you know you can't force dice to marry him then it would be a loveless marriage." Wheezy coughed. "Yea and from what I heard once dice puts on that ring he can't take it off ever him and the boss would be bound forever then that would be even worse." piroulettta chimed in. Henchmen ignored everything they said and just walked out the door and went looking for dice.
