Chapter 9: heir

Dice woke up and saw devil still sleep and snoring. He finally got the strength to get up and head to the bathroom. He looked at himself and poked at his insecurities for a while before hearing devil "DICE, PANCAKES OR WAFFLES?" "Pancakes are fine dev!" He replied and heard the pots and pans banging. There was a knock the door and dice went to get it. He opened the door to see devils mom, Lucy "Momma Lucy!!" Dice gave her a hug. Dice and Lucy had an amazing relationship.

"Kingsley!" She smiled. Devil came to the door "mom why are you here? The casinos closed on Mondays?" He scratched his head. "Well I need to have a serious talk with you son Cmon." She walked out the door, dice tried to follow but was stopped "dice I love you but just me and Lucifer need to talk." She sighed. "Oh.. alright then I'll just watch tv I suppose ." He walked back inside. "So mom what's so important?" Devil groaned.

"My dear Lucifer your getting older and as we're speaking new people are being born so by the time their all gambling age times will change and you'll be stuck with your old fashion ways you won't be able to adjust.." Devil didn't understand what she was saying at all. "Mom what are you trying to say?" She sighed "I'm very old and when I had the casino times were different and I couldn't adjust to the new times so when I had you I let you take over because you understood the newer generation." Devil was still very much confused.

"Mom just say what your trying to say!" Devil shouted. "Aye don't you yell at me mister!" She shouted back. He growled "fine fine just.. say it" "times are changing and it's about time we have a new heir to the casino Lucifer." Devil laughed but Lucy wasn't joking. "I'm not joking Lucifer the casino must have a heir to keep the bloodline going." She said in a stern tone. "Mom im immortal.." "but dice isn't" devils heart dropped. His mom was right dice wasn't immortal.

"Yeah but were not even married mom." Lucy turned around and smiled. "That's another reason I'm here my dear boy!" She handed Lucifer two black rings. "You will propose to dice by the end of the week." Devil needed to wrap his head around everything "mom this is way too soon we haven't even been together for a year!" He shouted. "Lucifer my dear think about it, once you slip this wrong on dices finger he'll be immortal and bound to you forever which will most definitely give us a heir to the casino."

She grinned. "You don't do this and the casino could go out of business in the next few years my son." She hissed with her eyes glowing green as devil stared at the rings. "FINE!" He finally gave in and it was his job to propose to dice before the end on the week to save the casino even though it felt wrong and dice would obviously say no. "What happens if he rejects the proposal?" He asked. "If he says no I'll just have to handle things my own way." She smirked.

"And what's your own way? You wont hurt him will you?" He shouted. "Just hope he doesn't reject you my dear." She grabbed his chin and lifted his head up. Before devil could say anything Lucy poofed into thin air leaving devil staring at the rings. Devil sighed and walked back inside. "Where's your mom I made her a plate?" Dice asked setting breakfast plates down. "Oh you know her she had business to handle." Devil sighed sitting down in a chair at the giant dinning room table. Dice went behind him and wrapped his arms "what's wrong dev? You need me to brush you?"

He asked worried. "No im fine just tired I guess."  He groaned. "Well how about I make you some coffee and we could take a little nap?" He kissed his cheek. "That sounds nice." He responded .
