Emily Walker was the first one at work. She was dressed as Dorothy her favorite character from The Wizard of Oz. She opened the doors to the Library and flipped the switch for the lights. They didn't turn on. She looked around in the darkness. Without the lights and no one else in the Library, it was a very creepy place. She wasn't sure why the lights hadn't come one but she stepped into the Library and locked the doors behind her. She headed toward the office to put down her purse and things then she would find and check the breakers. She placed her things in the office and turned to head toward the breakers when she saw the dark figure in the shadows. She stopped frozen in terror.
" I'm sorry but the Library isn't open yet," she said nervously, " I must have left the door open."
There was no response from the figure.
" I'm going to have to ask you to wait outside," said Emily.
Again there was no response the figure just stood there. Emily moved back toward the office and the phone. The Figure stepped forward.
" Look I don't know what you want," said Emily, " but if you don't leave I'll have to call the police."
Emily continued backing away. The Figure continued forward. Finally Emily turned and ran for the office. The Figure darted forward grabbing her by the arm and throwing her back away from the office. Emily stumbled into a near by bookshelf knocking it over. Emily got to her feet and looked around for her attacker but saw no one. She ran for the front doors but when she got there she found them locked. The Figure most have been inside all along. Frightened, she remembered she had locked the doors. Her head was grabbed from behind and thrust into the glass doors of the Library cracking the glass and gashing her head. She spun around. Her attackers face was covered with some kind of mask, however, the neck and hair were not covered so she clawed at her attacker's neck. Her attacker stepped back grabbing at their neck. She could feel the warmth of the blood dripping down her head. Dazed she tried to run for the office again but once again was grabbed this time she was thrown to the ground. Her attacker was on top of her, hands gripped around her neck. Emily reached up trying to push her attacker away. Her hands slipped and ended up on her attackers head she grabbed a handful of her attacker's long hair and pulled with all her might. Her attacker released her neck, coughing Emily struggled to free herself. She fumbled with her hands on the floor and found a hardback book that had fallen from the bookshelf she grabbed it and smacked her attacker in the face with it. Her attacker fell off of her.
Emily looked down at her attacker and kicked them in the stomach then dropped the book on her attacker's head and ran for the office. Still dazed from her head wound, the Library seemed blurry. She had a hard time running. She stumbled and struggled to get to the office never looking behind her to check on her attacker's location. She had a single-minded goal of reaching the phone. She reached the office but tripped and fell to the floor she was losing a lot of blood from the wound in her head and was very dizzy. She crawled over to the desk and found the phone cord and pulled the phone down to her. The receiver fell off when it hit the floor so she began to dial the numbers for 9-1-1.
She dialed 9-1, but then was grabbed and drug out of the office. Screaming she clawed at the carpet her nails breaking off in a vain effort to pull herself away. She was dragged to the center of the room. Her attacker rolled her over and looked down at her. Emily dazed and tired stared back up at her attacker. Her attacker's hand went to the mask that was covering its face and pulled it away. Emily's eyesight was still blurry but she knew the face that stirred down at her.
" You?" asked Emily.
She received no answer. Her attacker dropped down to its knees and bent over her and gently kissed her on the forehead.
