Shen's POV
"That's all for today." I said and Akali immediately got up, "Finally! I'll be going somewhere, don't worry about me!" She ran off and I sighed. She does this all the time. She never says where she goes. I'm going to find out this time. I followed her and she passed by a lot of stores and she ended up in one of the stores that was a little isolated. She's a kid so I can't exactly accuse her of meeting up with members of the Order of Shadow. I waited for a while to see if there was anyone else going to come in and see her. I saw the woman serving a bowl of ramen to Akali and she seemed harmless. Her hair was a midnight blue that brought out her crimson eyes. Akali seemed to like her very much so I decided to come in. "So this is where you run off to." Akali groaned, "Can't you let me eat in peace, old man?" I'm not that old. I sighed, "You can after training." She groaned even more, "You said, training was over! I was starving so I went straight here! Besides, it's late already. Don't you have better things to do like keep the spirits in check in the spirit world?" Does this girl really think I don't care about her? "I only said training is over because you always run off. Now we can continue training, you can come back later." She crossed her arms and grumbled. This kid is so stubborn. "Go on, Akali. I'll stay open til you come back so you can finish this and I'll have a few more for you." Akali's expression quickly changed, "You mean it?" The woman smiled and I admit that she was very attractive. "Of course. Now go train hard." Akali jumped off the seat and grabbed my hand and trying to get me to move. Akali never listens to me or anyone in the Kinkou Order and yet this woman who she barely knows and is nice to her can make her follow or at least convince her to do something. I glanced at the woman and she just smiled at me. I returned a nod before I walked, letting Akali lead the way. "How did you find that place?" She chuckled, "I kinda got lost and saw her store, I was kinda hungry and the smell of her food was so good! She even let me eat plenty without having to pay. She's a really nice woman!" We continued with her training and I didn't have to tell her what to do. She did it vigorously and she didn't falter even if she stumbled, she quickly recovered. I'm surprised that she's very determined and its all because of a promise a woman made. Once she was done, I handed her a towel and she panted, wiping her sweat off. "You did good." She grinned, "Thanks! Now let's get to Evalie!" I grabbed her wrist and properly wiped her back so she wouldn't get sick. "At least, wipe your sweat properly." She chuckled and we made our way to Evalie's store. The stores near were closed but her lights were still on. "Evalie! We're back!" She appeared and I think she wasn't expecting me but understood why. "Hi, again." I looked around and it was fairly simple and had a homey vibe. "I'll have your ramen warmed up in a while. You sit there. Do you want some as well, Shen?" She knows my name. Has Akali been talking about me to her? "Sure." I sat down next to Akali and she was very excited. She gave us our bowls and some chopsticks. "How about you? Eat with us!" Akali insisted. "Alright, alright." She pulled a chair and sat down, eating with us. She placed a plate of tempura in the middle and Akali dug right in. She didn't even hold back. I shook my head, "Eat slowly, Akali. You'll choke yourself. Besides, we're not in a rush." Akali pointed her chopsticks at me making me raise an eyebrow, "I'm eating fast so I can have more seconds than you." Is she for real? She's making this a competition? Unbelievable. I rolled my eyes at her and saw that Evalie staring at me. "Is there a problem?" She lightly flinched, "S-sorry! I just noticed that you had removed your mask. Kinda caught me off guard."
Caught off guard? So does that mean she finds me attractive? Akali sneered, "So is he your type?" What is this child up to? "Don't even think about it, young lady. Eat. Before I change my mind about letting you have more." She didn't deny it. "No fair, you promised!" Evalie gave her a smile but her eyes were almost saying, "See if I'm lying." She huffed and continued eating. "I was just saying." She patted her head, "Good girl." Interesting. I glanced at Akali and smirked, "Well, if that's all it takes for you to listen then I'd be doing this more often." She glared at me with a growl making me chuckle, "Don't even dare!" It's quite amusing seeing Akali like this. I might come by with Akali here more often if this is what happens. She poured more ramen into Akali's bowl, "Now, now. Come on. Worry about it later, eat or the food will get cold." Akali's eyes brightened and she turned her attention to the food. I looked down on my bowl seeing it was empty. I smacked my lips together and I can see why Akali wants more. I handed my bowl to her, "May I have more?" She took it with a smile, "Sure. It's on the house." Akali then grabbed my arm, "Shen, you gotta try these! It's really good!" She had the tempura in one hand and tried shoving it in my mouth. This kid. I snatched the piece from her and ate it. "It is." A chuckle emanated from Evalie, "Thanks." She placed the bowl in front of me, "Thank you." The rest of the night was spent with laughter and getting to know each other. One thing I noticed about Evalie though, was her build was firm and muscular. Everyone has secrets, but if she becomes a threat to Akali... I shook my head trying not to overthink it. Akali and her training was our topic since Akali was the only reason we met. We helped her close up but she didn't need help. Her bag was a bit big and Akali insisted we walk her home. "Alright. Even if I say no, you'll just follow me." Akali grinned and chortled, "You know it!" We walked and her house was a bit far from her store. "Thanks for walking me home. You really didn't have to." Akali hugged her, "It's the least we could do!" She was taken aback from the gesture. "Well, if you need my help.. you know where to find me." She sat to Akali's level and I could tell she's sincere to Akali. I guess this helps. Akali needs someone she can lean on like a mother. I should probably get to know her for Akali. "Well, you guys take care." We walked away and she went inside. Akali skipped along ahead of me, humming. "Soooo... what do you think?" She faced me walking backwards with a grin. "What do I think of what?" She was obviously referring to Evalie but I'm not going to give her the pleasure of knowing that I understood what she was implying. "You know! About Evalie!" I sighed, "She's fine." She grinned, "Damn right, she is!" Wait. That wasn't what I meant! "Is she your type?" I crossed my arms, "Is that really necessary?" She laughed, "You didn't deny it!" Well, I'd be lying if I said she wasn't. "Your point?" She ran around me, "My point is, eventually, you two are gonna end up together! No matter how hard you two deny it! When that day comes, I'm gonna rub it in your face!" She jumped to my face to emphasize "in my face". I grabbed her, "Alright, alright. Relationships aren't that simple, Akali." She shrugged, "I know. Besides, I'm not giving up on setting you two up!" I sighed and shook my head, releasing her.
