Loud music, people openly flirting and fighting in the streets. Huh, it was much calmer before. Vander finally give in to chaos instead of peace? Nah, doesn't seem right. I went around and there was one constant thing among the people other than their smug faces. The purple substance they inhale and drink. I could almost hear menacing mumbling at each time one of them consumed the substance. I doubt Vander would allow the Undercity to abject to something like this.
So either he's lost his mind or someone else is running the place.
The question is.. what happened to the kids?
I tried searching for them but there were no where to be found. The Last Drop was filled with people and had guards. Maybe I'll go there some other time. I went wherever as I pleased and even got inside one of their manufacturing facilities. Man I could break this and whoever the crime lord's empire would crumble. I stood against the glass, examining the liquid in the tank. It was warm and somewhat.. organic? Alive? As if it was... calling out to me.
"Hey! How did you get in here?"
Oops.
I simply slowed down time and made my way out. I went to the nearest bar and it was even more congested than it was outside. "Oh, you're a new face." I nodded, "What are they drinking?" He raised a brow, "You don't know?" I shrugged, "Not exactly from around here." He smiled and propped an elbow on the counter, "It's called Shimmer. It's a drug. You should try it. Here." He poured a glass for me and added this Shimmer before setting it down in front of me. "It's on the house." I picked the glass up and I brought it to my nose.
Those eerie voices... I could still hear them. Louder this time. Screeching. It's like those creatures I've fought... from the void. I wasn't going to take the chance. I slowed down time and got up. Leaving the cup at the hands of someone else, leaving the establishment.
I stayed for weeks, asking around, poking around just to see how much trouble I can cause before the new boss comes out to look for me, himself... or herself. I didn't really have anything better to do, so why not poke around a hornets' nest?
Besides, I was curious. I've heard of talks about the boss, Silco, then his number 2? I guess his right hand man. Sevika. Now that's a slightly familiar name. Couldn't put my finger on who she is though.
I was walking to the apartment I rented when I saw a group of people in the middle of the street. There were a total of 6 to be specific. 4 were on their knees, reaching out for the vials held by the man who was surprisingly dressed nicely and the other one was standing not far behind them.
Ah! Now I remember who Sevika is.
And considering how well this man is dressed. I suppose I was face to face with the new big bad wolf in town. "So what brings you to the under city?" Initially, I wanted to see how Vander was holding up with Topside's enforcers but that's out of the question now. "Am I not allowed to explore the under city?" He had this poise and aura that sneered at those below him to obey. He has the charisma.. but I am above him.
"Nothing happens in the under city without my knowledge, girl." I scoffed, "Girl? Boy, I am a woman. One who can take your entire empire down in a matter of seconds if I want to." He chuckled, "Topsiders. Always thinking you can get away with what you want. Then allow me to demonstrate." He released the vials and the beggars caught it, immediately drinking the substance. It was shimmer. The dosage they took was more than what people used on the streets and bars. This time they somewhat mutated. Parts of their bodies transmogrifying into something similar to a monster. Almost similar to how people turn out when consumed by the void, only they have control over themselves for the most part.
