"Thank you, see us again!" I said as the customers left. The shop wasn't always busy but it was enough to make a living. Better than needlessly killing people in raids that won't benefit either side. I left my squad and stayed here in Ionia. Ionia was a beautiful region, magic and spirits were free to roam here. It's been years since I left but I have a feeling that I'll be seeing them soon. Sooner or later, they'll invade here. Ionia isn't really military-oriented. They're farmers, not fighters. Although there are fighters and them alone are fearsome. Imagine what Ionia would be if everyone was trained to be an assassin or a fighter. I heard the door open and there revealed my favorite customer. "Akali!" She grinned and skipped to the counter, "How's it going, Evalie?" I smiled, "It's going good, should I get you the usual or you want something new?" She grinned, "I'll have my usual but you can throw something new as well." I smiled and turned to cook her favorite ramen and made some tempura. The tempura was new. Just got added today. "Soooo.. how come you never married?" I chuckled, "I didn't really have that in my plans. Besides, no one ever courted me." She slammed her hands on the table, "I don't believe that!" I glanced at her with a smile, "Well, even if there were, they weren't my type." She grumbled, "Isn't it lonely? You know... all you do is work, work, work. Do you even have time for yourself? Or at least have someone to look after you?" I stopped for a while, letting Akali's words sink in. "It does get kinda lonely but... you get used to it. As for taking care of myself. I can do that on my own." She slumped over the counter, "You and the old man really are okay with dying alone?" I turned to her and raised a brow, "Old man? Your trainer?" She raised her head, "Yeah, Shen. The eye of the Twilight. All that crap." Oh him. "Oh. I mean.. isn't that part of his responsibility?" She shrugged, "I guess but.. he doesn't have to completely devoid himself of human emotions, he's still one." I nodded, "I see your point." She then shot up, "What if?!" I took a bowl and saw her expression and it's not one I necessarily like. "What if I introduce you to him?! You two get to know each other and who knows?! Maybe you two might end up together!" I sighed at how she fan-girled. "How about you eat and don't even think about pushing through with setting us up. The man already has a lot of responsibilities. I don't want get in the way of him carrying out his duties." I gave Akali the food and without another word, she dug right in and ate. "Oh! You're the best!" She took a bite of the tempura, "Oh! You have to give me another set of these! Three more for take out! I also gotta have the others try it." I chuckled, "Glad you like it." I wrapped the tempura and placed it in a paper bag. "Another bowl?" I placed the bag on the counter as she was sipping up the soup from the bowl. "Yes please!" I shook my head at her antics and gave her another bowl.
"I could never get tired of your cooking!" She quickly ate her seconds. "It's even better after training!" She ate up until 5 bowls and another customer, or so I thought, came in. "So this is where you run off to." Akali groaned, "Can't you let me just eat in peace, old man?" Shen sighed, "You can after training." Akali groaned once more, "You said, training was over! I was starving so I went straight here! Besides, it's late already. Don't you have better things to do like keep the spirits in check in the spirit world?" Shen sighed, "I only said training is over because you always run off. Now, we continue training, you can come back later." Akali groaned and crossed her arms, "Go on, Akali. I'll stay open til you come back so you can finish this and I'll have a few more for you." She brightened up, "You mean it?" Akali was still very young and her training, I imagine, is intense. She might not be gifted with magic but she's very talented in other aspects. "Of course. Now go train hard." She grinned and jumped off the seat and grabbed Shen's hand, "Alright, come on! Let's go!" Shen looked at Akali tugging at his hand, trying to pull him out the door. Shen looked at me and I just smiled at him and he returned a nod before letting Akali drag him away. I chuckled at the sight and went back to cooking as other customers came in. Once it was late, no people were walking around much, I went to the back to get a book. I searched for my book and saw my old sword. I still kept it sharp, in case those goons show up. I knew the moment I left my post in the service of Noxus, I was charged for treason. I held the sword and stared at it for a while until, "Evalie! We're back!" I hid the sword and went out. "Hi, again." Shen was with her, I understood because it was late. "I'll have your ramen warmed up in a while. You sit there. Do you want some as well, Shen?" He thought for a while, "Sure." I smiled and prepared two bowls and gave it to them. "How about you? Eat with us!" Akali insisted. "Alright, alright." I also took out some left over Tempura and placed it in the middle. Akali dug in and Shen shook his head at the girl. "Eat slowly, Akali. You'll choke yourself. Besides, we're not in a rush." Akali then pointed her chopsticks at him, "I'm eating fast so I can have more seconds than you." Shen rolled his eyes and I had just realized, Shen has his mask removed. He looks... good. "Is there a problem?" I snapped out of my trance, "S-sorry! I just noticed that you had removed your mask. Kinda caught off guard." Akali chuckled, "So is he your type?" I raised a brow at her and took a clean towel, wiping her mouth. "Don't even think about it, young lady. Eat. Before I change my mind about letting you have more." She swallowed, "No fair, you promised!" I just gave her a smile and a look and she huffed but kept eating, "I was just saying." I patted her head, "Good girl." Shen looked at Akali and smirked, "Well, if that's all it takes for you to listen then I'd be doing this more often." Akali growled and glared at Shen while I chuckled. "Don't even dare!" I took Akali's empty bowl and poured her seconds, "Now, now. Come on. Worry about it later, eat or the food will get cold." Her eyes brightened and she ate her seconds. "May I have more?" Shen asked and handed me his bowl. "Sure. It's on the house." Akali then perked up, "Shen, you gotta try these! It's really good!" Shen grabbed the Tempura Akali was trying to shove in his mouth and ate it. "It is." I chuckled, "Thanks." I placed his bowl in front of him and we spent the night talking about Akali's training and them introducing the Kinkou Order. Akali invited me to join but I respectfully declined.
