Tobi's POV
THUMP.
The girls land in the bush where they fell. Wait. Tobi gets up and looked around. The oval is exactly how they left it. Except it's deserted.
"How long were we falling," Lexi groans rubbing her head.
"I dunno, we better get to class though, we have Science," Tobi sighs anxiously. Daisy laughs. "Always the goody two-shoes. Me and Lexi have English."
"Lexi and I," Tobi corrected.

Tobi knocks on the Science room door with Lilly and Angie.
Mr Whitehouse opens the door.
"Well you certainly took your time girls. Tobi, this is the third time this week, sit," he says sternly. Angie and Lilly looked at her in surprise. Third time? Tobi was sullen as she walked to her seat. She has always had a perfect record. She sat down. She opens her book and was empty. A few scribbled drawings at the most. Tobi frowns, flipping through the pages.
"Now, can anyone tell me the first five elements of the periodic table?" Mr Whitehouse asks. Tobi's hand shot in the air.
"Tobi?" he puzzles.
"Hydrogen, Helium, Lithium, Beryllium and Boron," the whole class stares at her, bar Lilly and Angie of course.
"Didn't know you had a brain," a voice sneers from behind her. It's Eleanor, a perfectly nice girl who never had anything rude to say. Tobi ignores her. Maybe she's having a bad day.
Tobi doesn't put her hand up again, ashamed of the staring, judgmental eyes.
Finally the bell rings for lunch. Tobi is whisked up in a group of girls, chatting about mundane things like boys and crap. She escapes with her life, slinking out of their view.
"We need to find Daisy and Lex, something's up," Tobi confront Angie and Lilly. They decide to head to their usual spot. Lexi and Daisy already there talking in hushed tones.
"That hole, it must of," Lexi rubs her temples.
"I though you said alternate universes didn't exist," Daisy teases.
"Woah, we're not jumping to any conclusions here," Tobi warns, then she has an idea.
"Open your bags," she orders, opening her own bag. Nothing was inside it. Well Her school books, a pack of gum and loose change. What had happened to her books, folders, lunch?
"Oh my god," Angie stares into her bag. Inside are textbooks. Science, geography, history.
"Even I'm not that bad," Tobi laughs.
"So what happened?" Lexi fiddles with the zipper on her bag.
"The hole, it must of lead to whatever, wherever this place is," Tobi leans against a pole, burying her face in her hands.
"An alternate dimension?" Lilly asks nobody in particular.
"Maybe," Tobi rubs her arms. "If so we better keep our heads down and play along."
"Wait, we haven't changed, so why have our bags?" Angie puzzles.
"Our bags didn't come through with us," Lexi points out. "Our bags are still back there."
"I wonder how much has changed, you know," Daisy looks around.
The bell rings and they're split up again. It's art so Angie and Tobi are together. They round the corner of the art room and Tobi bumps into someone.
"Oh sorry, my bad," Tobi apologizes quickly. She look at the girl. It's Tris, an Asian girl who Tobi lives near so they bond over the walk to and from school. Tris looks at Tobi bewildered.
"I gotta go," Tris murmers, heading away from the art room. Tobi shrugs. She puts her bag down and lined up.

Tobi waits at the gate at the end of the day. Now that she thinks about it, Tris wasn't at school for the first half of the day, she showed up when they fell down the hole. Tobi turns to leave just as a voice calls.
"You leaving without me?" Tris runs up behind her.
"You weren't there for Art and English, where did you go?" Tobi asks.
"We need to talk."
"I don't know what your talking about."
"How did you get here?" Tris questions. Tobi hides a guilty blush."Tobi, you know what I'm talking about."
"We fell," Tobi admits. "Down a hole."
Tris frowns. "This place is dangerous, primordials can't be here," She frets
"Wait what?" Tobi exclaims. Tris presses her forefinger to her mouth.
"You come from the positive dimension, primordial, it means-"
"Yeah I know what it means," Tobi interjects. "The original, pure."
"This is the negative dimension, the people here are known as Penumbra."
"Shadow like, but the fuzzy shadows not the darkest kind," Tobi says thoughtfully. Tris nods.
"I'm Wanderer, I have the power to travel between the dimensions at will. I belong in neither, I simply exist," she sighs.
"Don't my friends and I have alternate selves?" Tobi asks
"When you got here they sort of phased out of reality," Tris answered glumly.
"How do we get back?" Tobi asks desperately
"It will take a while, I've never transported someone across dimensions before," Tris sighs. "We'll give it our best shot."
