The three teens sit in the grass, Hugo leaning against the tree as he keeps passing out. When he can manage to keep his eyes open Tris tries to fill him in on what exactly just happened.
"So I died?" Hugo almost falls over, keeping himself propped up on a shaky arm.
"Yeah, and then Tobi restarted your heart," Tris nods.
"Wait, like, CPR?" He asks.
"No with, with magic," Tobi looks down at her lap. She waited for a response but when she didn't get one she saw Hugo had passed out again.
"How long till he gets better?" She turns to Tris.
"Before the day ends don't worry, sugar might help him. I've got my wallet on me, it's not a long walk to Mcdonalds."
"Wait, why Mcdonalds?" Tobi asks confused.
"Biggest sugar boost I can think of, one dollar large frozen coke," she smiles, getting up from the ground. "I'll grab you something too."
Tobi watches as Tris heads down the road toward the highway. It is true that she lives quite close to the establishment, no more than a ten-minute walk.
She shuffles closer, making sure Hugo is sat upright instead of falling over, holding his shoulder up with her hand. The girl looks around the lawn, nobody seems to have heard the commotion that was the whole magic removing spell and then the killing and bringing back of a fourteen year old.
Tobi sits by that tree watching Hugo come in and out of consciousness, her hand placed on his shoulder, gently rubbing to soothe him. Her eyes trained on his chest to make sure that it rose and fell in a steady pattern, she felt too weak to be able to use her healing magic, it would probably kill her too doing neither of them any good.
"Hey, I've got the food," Tris calls making Tobi's head snap up. Tris carries a cardboard cup holder with two large and one small drink. In her other hand, a paper bag with some fatty fast food. She sits next to them and hands the two large drinks to Tobi, upon inspection, frozen sprites.
"Medium chips for us and Big Mac for him," Tris hands Tobi the food and with one arm full of junk food she gently shakes Hugo, stirring him.
"Come on, stay with us," she says in a motherly tone, sticking the straw into his mouth and reaching her hand behind the back of his neck to keep him upright and out of danger of choking. He has barely drunk a third of the icy drink before passing out again. Tobi lowers the cup and takes a sip of her own.
"It's kind of hard to feed McDonald's to someone who won't stay awake for more than three minutes at a time," Tobi chuckles before shoving a pinch full of fries into her mouth.
"Yeah well we did just stop all his bodily functions completely," Tris reasons.
"No, you killed him," Tobi counters, raising an eyebrow. "I bought him back to life, which I wouldn't of had to of done if you didn't try to take away my powers."
"Hold up, I wouldn't of had to do that if you hadn't been so careless with your bloody powers, I wouldn't of had to," she says angrily.
"You could have given me another chance," Tris raises her voice slightly.
"And let there be a chance of the world ending? Unbalanced use of magic is like a beacon Tobi, demons have been stirring, they've been dormant for 1000 years,"
"Stirring, that's nothing! Now that you've balanced my magic and bloody weakened my powers, yeah I've noticed by the way, they can go back to sleep!"
"Tobi, you're being insufferable-"
"Please s-s-stop f-fighting," a cracked voice sounds, barely audible. Both girls stop and look at Hugo who is trying to push himself upright.
"Can I have more of that drink?"

Tobi leans against the bricks of her house waving as Hugo gets driven home by his parents. As soon as his family's car is out of sight her face falls from the fake smile she had plastered on her face. Hugo had made a full recovery, happily eating his McDonald's. Tobi could not help but hold resentment against him for limiting her power. For once in her life she felt like she was in control, like she was special. It wasn't really his fault but that didn't stop her for wishing that it was. She walked back inside her house and to her room where she was greeted by Tris, lying on her bed.
"Tidied the place up a bit," she waves her hand around. It's true, the bed is perfectly manicured unlike its usual half hearted appearance and the shoes are actually in her shoebox instead of lazily thrown around them. The desk has been straightened and the bin emptied. "You are a bit of a clutch aren't you."
"So you're my maid now?" Tobi asks, trying not to seem to impressed.
"No, I just wanted to help, Tobi, you need to let go of this resentment. You need to work together with Hugo."
"I don't resent him," Tobi snaps.
"I've been working with Cancer on my magic, I've learnt many new spells."
"Okay, so what does it matter then," Tobi rolls her eyes.
"Because the monsters aren't just stirring anymore. They're on the move Tobi, Earth could be in danger."
"B-but the zodiacs will take care of them, they're the most powerful beings in the universe."
"Not quite," she says grimly.
"What do you mean, they make the world turn, they control everything, I read the book."
"That book was written by Cancer, a Zodiac. And as much as the Zodiacs care for us, they hate needing our help." She pauses, thinking deeply. "1000 years ago, the first time the demons awoke, the Zodiacs fell, the Earth went dark. There were six humans, bestowed with elemental aura. They beat the monsters, forced them back into their slumber."
"Does this mean," Tobi asks afraid, but a little spark of excitement started inside of her at the thought of an adventure.
"We have a lot of training to do."
