Acceptance

The group of Faunus sat around the café table. The monkey Faunus was sipping his tea, and I bared my teeth at the boy who was trying to flirt with my girlfriend, Blake. She was sitting on my lap, calmly sipping her tea before setting it down and patting me on the head to calm me down.

Blake: "It's fine, baby. Calm down."

Y/n: "Fine."

Sun: "Finally, she speaks! Nearly two days, and you've given me nothing but small talk and weird looks! (Blake gives Sun a firm look) Yeah, like that."

Blake: (rolls her eyes before closing them and looking at him sadly) "Sun... Are you familiar with the White Fang?"

Sun: "Of course! I don't think there's a Faunus on the planet who hasn't heard of them. Stupid, holier-than-thou creeps that use force to get whatever they want. Bunch of freaks, if you ask me!"

Blake: (sips her drink while listening and then speaks up for the big reveal) "I was once a member of the White Fang."

Sun: (promptly goes cross-eyed and chokes on his drink, making him put it down and wipe his mouth as he holds up a hand to process this information) "Wait a minute, you were a member of the White Fang?!"

Blake: "That's right. I was a member for most of my life, actually. You could almost say I was born into it..."

Y/n's POV

I listened to Blake tell Sun about her past and connection to the White Fang. The White Fang... I'll always hate them for what they did. They took my family away from me. That day was etched into my brain. I can still smell the blood, the fire, and the gunpowder.

Flashback

3rd Person POV

I had stayed at the Belladonna residence for the day because my mom and Mrs. Belladonna were good friends since a very young age. I was helping Mrs. Belladonna prepare dinner so I could take some back to my parents.

Young Y/n: Is it done yet?

Kali: Almost, Y/n. My, my, someone is excited.

Young Y/n: (nods) Yeah, I wanna show them how much better I have gotten!

Kali just smiled at the young Faunus and handed him a box filled with the food he had made with her. Once he had it in his arms, he smiled and ran off past his friend Blake and her father, Ghira.

Ghira: Have a good day, Y/n! Oh! Tell your father I have the drinks ready for tonight.

Y/n: Sure thing, Mr. Belladonna!

Y/n ran past multiple stalls and people, some of whom waved at the young boy while others looked down on him.

Y/n: I can't wait to bring this home to them!

The boy soon reached his house with a big smile on his face. As soon as he took a step, an explosion broke out, pushing the boy back onto the ground. Y/n looked up from the ground and saw his house in flames.

Y/n: No, Mom, Dad!

Y/n wanted to rush in, but a random Faunus stopped him from going in. The boy looked back, and the Faunus shook her head. Y/n couldn't help but watch as his house went up in flames. After some time, everyone had gathered around as two medics brought out body bags. The boy slowly walked over to them and put his hands on them.
