Third person pov

It was early in the morning, and our favorite half-breed could be seen in the training room, diligently practicing his semblance and swordsmanship. From the looks of it, he had spent the entire night there. Y/n had dark circles under his eyes, sweat dripping down his face, and was panting heavily from his intense training regimen. Why was he training so rigorously? Well, he now had friends and a mate to protect.

Y/n: takes down another robot It's not enough. I have to keep getting stronger. I can't lose anyone, not again.

Little did he know, Ozpin was watching over him from the doorway. The man couldn't help but smile as he saw an image of the teen's father behind him.

Ozpin: Just like him. He's going to grow into a fine young man.

Y/n's POV

I couldn't remember the last time I had slept. It must have been a while. My body ached, and I was exhausted, but I wouldn't give up. I couldn't afford to. Not again. I couldn't bear to lose anyone again.

Y/n: lets out a sigh I should go check on everyone.

I left the training room, letting out a long yawn before placing my hands back in my kimono sleeves. Beacon had become a second home to me, and a lot had changed in my life. I now had a mate, the Chief's daughter, Blake Belladonna.

Y/n: I'm glad to be with Blake, and I'll always protect her.

I continued to walk down the hall to the library, where everyone was hanging out. I couldn't help but smile. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I belonged.

Weiss: I'm not trusting you with the good citizens of Vacuo!

Jaune: Why not? You've trusted me with way more important stuff before. I mean, you told us all that Blake is secretly a Fa-

Upon hearing this, I quickly rushed over and covered Jaune's mouth with my hand, then smiled.

Y/n: A fun-loving person, right?

Jaune: nods

As I let go, I sighed and sat down next to Blake, resting my head on her. I could tell that she had a slight smile on her face, and as I closed my eyes, I caught a familiar scent.

Sun: (offscreen) 'Sup, losers.

Sun appeared, holding his fingers in a "peace" sign.

Ruby: Hey, Sun!

Y/n: low growl Sun.

Sun: Ruby, Yang, Blake, Y/n... Ice Queen.

Weiss: Why does everyone keep calling me that?

Sun: I never got a chance to formally introduce you to my old friend.

Neptune: Uhh, aren't libraries for reading?

Ren: (throwing his arms up.) Thank you!

Nora: (popping her head up.) Pancakes!

Sun: Shut up. Don't be a nerd.

Neptune: (shaking a finger at Sun.) Geh, geh, geh, geh! "Intellectual," okay? Thank you. (waving) I'm Neptune.

I let out a long, annoyed sigh. Sun was already a pain, and now he had a team member. Great. He reeks a bit too much of cologne, buddy. I let out another sigh and got up from my seat, preparing to leave.

Sun: Hey, hold on, whoa!

As Sun attempted to place a hand on my shoulder, I grabbed his arm and flipped him around, making him hit the ground on his back.
