Like cats and dogs (male Faunus reader x Blake)

New day

It was early morning. Two teens could be seen—Blake Belladonna and Y/n L/n. The half-breed had decided to spend the night in Team RWBY's dorm. Out of all of them, he was the first to rise. The teen got out of bed and changed into his day clothes. He then looked at the clock.

Y/n: "Hmm, I've got some time. I'll go stop by and see Hat and Clogs."

The teen then got dressed in his usual clothes. Once he was fully dressed, he walked over to Blake and planted a kiss on her lips, then left the room. As he did, he bumped into his new friend, Weiss.

Y/n: "Oh, hey Weiss. You're up early."

Weiss: "I just wanted to get a head start on the day."

The two stood there for a good few minutes. There was still some awkward tension between them, which annoyed the hell out of Y/n.

Y/n: sigh "Come on, we're getting over this."

Weiss: "Wait, where are we going?"

Y/n grabbed Weiss by the arm, took her outside, and down to a small café shop. The teen placed some lien on the counter, then sat Weiss down in her chair before sitting in his own.

Y/n: "Alright, Weiss. What's up?"

Weiss: "What? Nothing is up."

Y/n:... "Weiss, there's something wrong. I don't want any awkward tension between us, so just get it off your chest."

Weiss sat there, looking down at her coffee cup, then back up at the teen who sat there with the same stoic look.

Weiss: "It's just... I said all of that stuff, and you willingly said it's okay and you're not mad. I don't understand."

Y/n: sighs  "As I told you, I made a promise to my mother... You remember that day I lashed out at that prick Cardin?"

Weiss: "I remember you ran out right after."

Y/n: "Back where I'm from, I'm even looked down upon by my own kind because I'm a love child between a human and a Faunus. So, my life hasn't been easy. I've been pushed around, knocked around, and even beaten up. Even after all that, I would come home to my family who embraced me with open arms. And what they always told me is, "Don't hate them. They are just scared and confused."

Y/n then took a sip from his teacup and set it back down before taking off the top half of his kimono and lifting up his shirt.

Y/n: "You see this scar? I got it the day my home blew up and erupted in flames. I wear it as a reminder to keep my promise to my family."

Weiss: "Oh my Oum, Y/n."

Y/n: "That's just life, Princess. Sometimes you just gotta roll with what Oum gives you. Now then, we should head back. Classes are about to start."

Yang: "Whatcha doing?"

Blake: "Nothing". Blake closes her book. "Just going over notes from last semester."

Yang catches a grape in her mouth.

Yang: "Lame."

Nora giggles as she continues to toss grapes at Yang with her spoon. Yang catches the fruit with ease, giving Nora the thumbs up. Ruby, giving an enormous heave, slams a binder onto the table, catching everyone off guard. On the cover of the binder is written "Vytal Festival Activities, Property of Weiss Schnee." This has been hastily crossed out with a red marker pen, and with the same pen, a new title, "Best Day Ever Activities," has been written underneath.
