In the vibrant city of Margian, resided a young boy adorned with radiant locks of hair and captivating eyes. Seated in solitude, he assumed a cross-legged position with his hands hidden within the sleeves of his crimson kimono. Engrossed in a collection of weathered and timeworn books left behind by his parents, he tenderly turned the pages with one hand while the other sought refuge within his sleeve.Y/n: I've lost count of how many times I've delved into these pages. Sighs If only I could experience some excitement. It would be a dream to gain admission to Beacon.
As y/n pondered this thought, his keen dog-like ears twitched at the sound of children playing nearby. Brushing it off, he redirected his attention back to his book. He continued reading until the growling of his stomach interrupted his concentration. Rising from his spot, he stretched leisurely, grasped his sword, and set off from his humble abode.
Y/n POV
The town lies within close proximity to my dwelling. I had casually slipped my hands into the sleeves of my kimono, just because I could. The town, bustling with activity, always had something transpiring. Occasionally, there would be a thief or members of the White Fang causing commotion. Frankly, I couldn't care less. They can do as they please. I continued along the path, the distant murmur of voices already reaching my ears.
Townman 1: Isn't that the half-breed?
Towns woman 1: What is he doing here? He's nothing but a troublemaker.
I simply rolled my eyes, unperturbed by their gossip. Their disdain stems from my mixed heritage—my father being a Faunus and my mother, human. Neither side accepts me wholeheartedly. Once I tuned out the chatter, I cast a glance at one of the food stalls, contemplating what they had to offer. A steak would undoubtedly satisfy my cravings, but vegetables suffice as well, I suppose. While selecting my choices, someone carelessly bumped into me.
Y/n: Hey! Watch where you're going!
???: Oh, y/n, I apologize. I didn't notice you there.
Y/n: Ah, Miss Belladonna, my apologies as well.
Kali Belladonna occasionally keeps me company. I don't mind her presence, although she tends to appear unannounced. Miss Belladonna, an older woman with a bronzed complexion, adorns herself in a black and white kimono. She is the chief's wife and a mother to a daughter named Blake, if memory serves me right.
Kali: What brings you here, y/n?
Y/n: I was hungry, so I thought of grabbing something to eat for tonight.
Kali: Steak and vegetables again, I see.
Y/n: Yes, is there a problem?
Kali sighed softly, shaking her head with a faint smile before redirecting her gaze to me.
Kali: Resting her hand on her cheek and leaning on it You should expand your culinary preferences, y/n.
Y/n: And why should I? I am content with what I have. Now, I bid you farewell, Miss Belladonna. I am returning home.
Before I could depart, Kali halted my movement, her eyes piercing into mine. I sensed there was something weighing on her mind, and I had a suspicion regarding her intentions.
Kali: You know, the offer still stands. You could live with us.
For the past few years, Kali has persistently extended an invitation for me to reside with her family. I am uncertain if it stems from pity or something else, but ever since my parents passed away, I have been fending for myself. It occurred when I was young, and it is the reason why I harbor resentment towards the White Fang.
Y/n: Miss Belladonna, I have informed you countless times that I do not require your charity. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must take my leave.
Kali POV
A long sigh escaped my lips as I watched y/n walk away. I wish for him to join our household, as he traverses this world alone, lacking companionship.
Kali: Oh, y/n, I yearn for you to come live with us. You would find joy in our company.
I proceeded to make my way toward our home, unable to shake off the image of y/n's solitude. The boy has been alone ever since his parents' demise. His father perished in the hands of the White Fang, and his mother succumbed to illness. Though he may appear composed, I know he harbors a profound sense of loneliness. However, I shook my head, attempting to clear these thoughts. No, he will be fine. I am certain of it.
Y/n POV
Finally arriving home, I pushed open the door, only for it to detach from its hinges and crash onto the floor. Emitting a resigned sigh, I retrieved it and reattached it to its rightful place. This house once belonged to my parents before my birth. It possesses an antiquated charm, with creaking floors and chipped paint on some walls. I have endeavored to maintain it as best as I can, but due to my circumstances, acquiring necessary repairs proves difficult.
Y/n: This place is in dire need of renovation.
I approached the stove and began preparing my dinner, simultaneously switching on the TV to immerse myself in some anime. The plot revolved around a girl with the ability to perceive and sever lines, vanquishing the undead.
Y/n: Ah, I was engrossed in this.
Once my meal was ready, I set it on the table and took a seat. As I savored my food, I sifted through the mail. Most of it consisted of junk, except for one particular envelope adorned with Beacon's symbol. With a swipe of my claw, I tore it open and began absorbing its contents.
Y/n: Y/n l/n, we are pleased to inform you that... mumble mumble and that you have been accepted into the academy. Sincerely, Professor Ozpin.
It took a moment for the news to sink in, but once it did, my entire being trembled with excitement, propelling me into the air.
Y/n: Yes!!! I made it! This is what I'm talking about! Oh, it's getting late. I should retire to bed. lies down Here I come, Beacon. I will demonstrate my abilities...
(A/n: and scene I hope you enjoyed this chapter until next time)
