(Kassandra P.O.V)
"Okay... Kassie. Remember concentrate on where you want to go." Ethan said. "And um... try not to splinch yourself again."
"Yes, Ethan." I replied. That only happened once and it was just a part of my ear.
"Now focus on your destination. Head for that tree." Ethan instructed.
I had been practicing how to do Apparition. And let me just say that Ethan was a much better teacher than that Twycross ever could be. "How come you didn't teach Apparition? Why Twycross?" I asked.
"I was busy fighting the Death Eaters." Ethan answered. "Now, focus." He reminded me.
I focused on where I wanted to go. And up to the tree. I got the Apparition down pretty well... but that was just one part. The next part... well... that was going to be interesting.
"Ambush!" Jacob yelled as I apparated to the tree. And I got blasted at by a bunch of fire spells.
I gasped. "Protego!" I yelled drawing a shield. But it was too late. As all I could do was deflect the blast away. And I lost my balance.
"Quick shot, that's a kill." Jacob announced.
"Malaka." I groaned.
Jacob reached out for my hand. "Hesitation only hastens-"
"-the grave." I interrupted. "I know, Jacob." And I sat down on the tree. "Why are we even doing this? They never showed this stuff in dueling clubs or... shit... even Snape never showed us how to do this in Defense Against the Dark Arts class last year."
"That's exactly why we're doing this." Ethan said going up to me. "You're going out in the Cold Cruel World with almost every dark force that's going to be after you. You gotta be prepared for everything. And that includes you potentially apparating right into an Death Eater ambush."
"Yes, Ethan." I replied. This was going to be harder then I thought. That summer, ever since Dumbledore died, I had been trained for hunting down the Horcruxes. So Ethan and Jacob continued to train me. In running, in hiding, in fighting. And what was more was that my brothers wanted me to be prepared for every event that would come my way when I was on the hunt. Dark things could be hunting me. Dark things would be hunting me.
And I was going to have to be aware of that fact. I wonder if my friends were going through things like that.
Of course, Ron and Ryan had advantages that Harry, Hermione, and I didn't. They had the Gods of Egypt in their bodies. Ever since both of them returned from Egypt. Ryan was paired with the God Horus. While Ron had Anubis living inside of him.
"Kassie... I'm only doing this because I'm not going to be there every time to protect you." Ethan explained. "I wish I could."
"I know." I replied. "But I don't think I'm really going to be attacked 24/7."
"You don't know that. And even so... you gotta be prepared for every scenario-" Ethan then pulled out an energy sword. I quickly got off my feet, and drew my own energy sword. "Like that one. Even having a heart to heart with a friend, Death Eaters could show up at any time."
"Death Eaters won't give you a break." Jacob added. "They can attack you anywhere, and at any point."
Just for the record, even when I was alone in Japan, I had some moments of peace for myself. Despite everything in that wilderness wanting to kill me. I had a feeling that what I was doing with Harry was going to be the same thing.
"Okay... I think we're done for the- Think fast!" Ethan shouted.
I quickly made a shield and then shot a few fire spells at Ethan bringing him down. And then he grinned. "Good."
