Chapter 40: How many more must die?

Everything in that moment felt silent. The castle fell silent and it was as if every combatant laid down their arms. My mind was in free fall, spinning out of control, unable to grasp it all. 

And suddenly a body fell past the hole blown into the side of the school and curses flew in at us from the darkness, hitting the wall behind our heads. 

"Get down!" Harry suddenly yelled. More curses flew through the night. Mater dragged me to the floor. Tears were falling from my eyes so furiously that my whole face felt wet. 

"Fall back!" Merula yelled. 

There were more gunshots coming from Jason. "Fucking shit with a load of fuck!" 

I could see Percy lay across Fred's body, shielding it from further harm. 

"Percy!" Ismelda shouted. "Come on! We've got to move!" 

But Percy shook his head. 

"Percy!" I saw tear tracks streak the grime coating Ron's face as he seized his elder brother's shoulders and pulled, but Percy would not budge. 

"Percy! Percy, you can't do anything for him! We're going to-" 

Hermione suddenly screamed. A monstrous Spider, the size of a small car, was trying to climb through the massive hole in the wall. One of Aragog's descendants had joined the fight. 

Ron, Harry, and I shouted together; our spells collided, and the monster was blown backwards, its legs jerked horribly and vanished into the darkness.

"It brought friends!" Harry called. 

More Giant Spiders climbed the side of the building, liberated from the Forbidden Forest, into which the Death Eaters must've penetrated. 

Right as Harry was about to blast whatever spell he was going to use, Ryan just stood up. And there was a very dangerous golden glow around him. The whole entire Castle shook at his feet. And he suddenly yelled out a furious roar. His Falcon Wings drew out in full force. He also drew out his wand. And from it, a Khopesh Blade was drawn from the other. "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" And then suddenly a fierce wind storm, like we were in the middle of a hurricane blew all around us. All the Spiders were flown up into the sky. All of them in the air. "I WILL RIP ALL YOU FUCKERS DOWN!" He yelled with a very commanding and very intimidating voice. 

And then Ryan just took off into the air. His wings furiously flapping and he literally slashed all the Spiders in the air and slashed them all to shreds. All exploding. And all blood ripping down like a waterfall of red. And by the time that Ryan returned to us, he was covered in red blood. And then he roared. And everything around that wasn't nailed down was completely pushed back aside. 

"Ryan?!" Hermione shouted. 

And then Ryan turned to us. His eyes dangerously glowing. He was lost in a berserker rage.

"Just get out of here! Run!" Merula yelled.

And Mater started to grab me and get me out of the corridor.  

But Ron stayed.

"Ron! What are you-?" Hermione started wondering.

Anubis then took over Ronald. And he approached Ryan. There were no words. But he did just grab Ryan and then started to hug him. 

"Mater?" I asked confused. 

Anubis held Ryan closer. And then... the winds and the storm started to die down. And the glow around Ryan started to fade. Ryan had returned to normal with tears in his eyes. He then turned to all of us. "I'm sorry..." And then he collapsed onto the ground. "I'm so sorry!" He sobbed.
