During the afternoon feeding, Natalia had eagerly helped her with the animals while wreaking havoc. First with fistfuls of chicken feed on her hair while the chickens was hungrily flocking around her. Then once more, squirting milk at her eye while she taught the woman how to milk the cows. Lastly, her predicament of plucking hay from her hair as Nat scattered hay onto her from the second bay of the barn. She chased the woman tackling her into the piles of loose hay only to be rewarded heavily with that adorable giggles and sweet kisses.
They laughed beside one another, playfully shoving each other as they pick the stray of hay in their hairs. After a long bath washing off the day's work, Theo shrugs on her short shorts and white long sleeve, before making her way down towards the kitchen to start dinner. The cool air sweeping through both her screen doors made it a perfect night for her infamous loaded Mac and cheese.
She just drained the pasta before arms engulf her smelling of sweet gardenias. Her smile beams as she glances in the window reflection, "I hope you're hungry. I'm making a very special dish for you," she snickers dropping the macaroni into her chili cheese sauce.
"Smells wonderful," Natalia compliments hovering over the stove as Theo admires the beauty in gray sweatpants and a white tee. She could wear rags for all she cared and still be the most beautiful thing in the world, Theo thought.
"Ah, ah, no peeking," Theo scolds shushing the woman to the barstool. "It's almost ready," she utters tossing in her steak and chilies. The oven rang before she pulls out her buttery golden corn bread. She sets it on the table as Nat floats to the cupboard for bowls. Theo tosses her Mac and cheese once more before sprinkling more cheese on top. She grasps the cast iron pan and placed it between her and Nat.
Natalia muses over the delicious fare as she help serve each share evenly. She blows slightly on the mouth watering dish before wrapping her lips around the forks murmuring in pleasure, "this has to be the most delicious thing I've ever eaten," she praises taking a bite of cornbread. She shakes her head, "this," she swallows, "this is the best thing," she corrects.
Theodora covers her laughter with her hand, "thank you," she returns, "it's a popular request from Orianna," she adds.
Natalia tilts her head, "wait this is your cornbread?"
Theo furrows her brows in confusion as she nods.
Talia lets out a whooping laughter, "all this time I thought Orianna was feeding us one of her dishes. No wonder it was cold when she brings them," she snickers.
"The audacity," Theo blurts playfully, "she fed you my buttery cornbread cold? Och that wretched girl," she dramatically teases.
Nat throws back her head laughing, "with the leftovers, Wanda and I would grill them for midnight snack. In hopes we don't wake the others as we stuff our faces," she exclaims.
Theo smiles twirling to reach for two wine glasses behind her before she grabs a wine bottle from her chiller. She pours them both a glass, "Wanda seems like a wonderful person," she comments.
"She's my best friend," Natalia informs warmly.
"Apologies, I haven't asked what you do?" Theo questions swallowing another bite.
Nat stiffens ready to lie before a knock on the kitchen door jars their attention.
Theo was on her feet striding away before she pushes the back door open. A beautiful woman strides into the kitchen holding a excited toddler who throws himself into her arms.
"Oh Sweetheart, what do I owe the pleasure of your beautiful presence?" Theo greets hugging the woman.
Amara beams a smile, "behave yourself Theo," she scolds before raising her brows, "I actually... was wondering if you could watch the little guy for me? Some of the girls are having a night out down at the bar," She exclaims before her eyes landed on the gorgeous red head who sat at the kitchen counter. Her eyes widen with surprise, "oh you have a guest," she blurts excitedly.
