A loud bang against my door woke me from a deep sleep. I immediately sat up straight and could feel my heart pounding. I waited a moment to make sure I wasn't imagining it and that it might have been part of my dream, but someone starts banging on the door again. "y/n are you awake?"
I recognized the voice immediately, it was John.
"What the fuck is wrong with you that you feel like scaring me to death in the morning?" I snapped at him.
"Get ready, Captain Price wants to talk to us. Hurry up, I'm waiting for you."
"What? Why does he want to speak to us?"
"I don't know, now get the hell dressed"
"Okay okay! I'll hurry."

As I got dressed, I wondered why a certain Captain Price wanted to see us.
The name sounded familiar to me. Soap had mentioned his name yesterday. He's the captain of task force 141! But what does he want from John and me? We have nothing to do with the task force, we only treat them when they are injured during their operations.
I realized I was getting nervous because I didn't know what Price wanted from us.
I quickly put my boots on and went out into the hallway. As announced, John was already waiting for me.

Without speaking, we walked down the hall and headed for Price's office. John was about to open the office door when I stopped.
"Come on, he's waiting for us."
I stopped for a moment, took a deep breath and went inside with John.
The office was very big. Price was sitting at his desk and got up when we walked in.
"Miss y/n, hello John."
"Good morning sir," John said.
"Good morning Sir, nice to meet you" I said to Price.
"I have to keep it short, I still have some important things to do. You have to think carefully about what I'm going to ask you now. I'll give you a week and then I need a clear answer from you."
I didn't say anything because I didn't know what to expect next. John took the word.
"How can we help you sir?"
"As you already know, task force 141 is a special forces unit. I regularly send the boys on dangerous missions. We sat together at dinner last night and wondered how we can ensure medical supplies on missions in the future. How miss y/ "I know Soap caught a piece of a grenade in his shoulder. Since this happened a few hours before the treatment, it wasn't so dramatic. If it had happened a few days beforehand, the consequences could be devastating. The boys are sometimes for weeks on missions and are always in danger. We want to put together a medical squad to accompany the boys on their missions. Soap suggested you both to me."
John and I looked at each other. We didn't know what to say. Then Price started talking again.
"You will be trained beforehand, and by that I don't mean medical training. You will receive military training from the boys so that you can defend yourself in an emergency. You will accompany the boys and provide their medical care. As I said before, I'll give you a week to think about it. If you have any other questions, feel free to contact me."
"Thank you sir. We will take care of it and give you an answer as soon as possible."

I could only stand next to John like I was rooted to the ground and nod. "Thank you sir" was all I could manage.
I said goodbye to Price and headed straight out of the office, with John following me. He was about to start talking when I stopped him and said "not here" and dragged him down the aisle to the TV room.

When he got there, he started talking right away.
"I can't believe it, I've always dreamed of being able to take part in missions and now the captain of the task force is asking us if we want to go on the missions!"
"Are you crazy? Do you know how dangerous that is? You see the soldiers we treat every day. Doesn't that scare you?"
"It does, but we're right there on the missions and we can prevent the worst without running out of time. We could do so much more."
"You're right... it sounds like you already have an answer John."
"yes y/n, i will agree and how about you?"
"I have to think about it... I have to process it first."
