I went to my room and closed the door behind me.
My thoughts turned to Ghost and his touch.
I ran my hand over the spot on my face where he had been holding my chin.

His touch felt so good. I didn't understand his behavior. Someone who barely spoke to me at first, stood up for me because John wanted to kiss me and as if that wasn't enough he lifted my chin for me to look at him. Something in me wished he had kissed me at that moment. I thought about how it would feel to kiss him. I immediately felt a tingling in my stomach. I would like to run back, burst into his room and just kiss him.

I shook my head at the thought. I couldn't imagine that he had these thoughts too.Since it was late, I got ready for bed and lay down.

My thoughts revolved around Ghost when I should be worrying about completely different things. Tomorrow John and I would have to decide whether to join Task Force 141. And I still didn't know what to do.

On the one hand I didn't want to endanger my life for dangerous missions. But the thought that Ghost could be badly injured on a mission and no medical help was nearby struck me. I wanted to be there to help him if something like this happened. I wanted to be near him. Not only to be able to provide him with medical help in an emergency. I wanted to be around him in general.

I must have fallen asleep at some point because I woke up to my alarm clock. It was still very early. I set my alarm like this on purpose to check on Ghost.

I got up, went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. The thought that I would see him again soon made my stomach tingle again.I got dressed and was about to put my shoes on when there was a knock on the door. Ghost?
"Come in," I said. The door slowly opened and to my disappointment I saw John.
"Price wants to see us."
"Now?"
"Yes." said John bluntly.
"I still need to..."
"No. He wants to speak to us immediately."
"Okay."

John closed the door behind him and left without waiting for me. His behavior towards me after our last conversation had changed, but I wasn't surprised. And I didn't care after his actions either.

I hurried to avoid keeping Price waiting.
My heart was pounding because I knew I was about to make an important decision.
At Price's office door, I paused and took a deep breath to calm myself, but it didn't help.
I had to go through this now.
I opened the door and saw that the entire Task Force 141 was present.
John was standing across the room from the window, Price was sitting at his desk to the left of the door.
The other team members were standing against the wall across from Price's desk, with only Ghost standing off to the side near the door. I walked into the room and briefly greeted everyone. I stood between Ghost and Price's desk.

"We need to keep this conversation short. There's another mission coming up in three days that will involve the whole of Team 141, so preparations need to be made. Before that happens, I need to know if you both want to join the team. You had mine I think there is now enough time to make a decision."

Silence filled the room.
John was the first to speak.
"Count me in." he said shortly.
"Me too." I said without thinking about it.
Up until that point, I wasn't even sure I wanted it, but gut instinct told me it was the right thing to do.
To my surprise, Ghost spoke up.
"I still think that's not a good idea. The missions are too dangerous and we can't guarantee that neither of you will be harmed."
As he said those words, he looked at Price and then at me. He didn't look at John and ignored him.
"It's not your decision. The two have decided to join and are part of the team from now on. I'll organize everything else. You can go now."

Ghost nodded and walked out without saying a word.
The others joined in and I was the last to leave the room.
The conversation felt like it had lasted less than a minute.
My heart was still pounding.
What had I just done? Was that the right decision?

I saw the others except Ghost go into the kitchen. I decided against it and went to my room. I needed a little time to myself before the day started. And before I made my way to the medical station, I wanted to check on Ghost and check his bandages.
Without giving it a second thought, I grabbed my medical kit and made my way to Ghost's room.
