A guard and her prince/Raylum

Chapter 1

Rayla's pov
"runaan!" I whine as my guardian runaan opened the curtains letting the morning sun hit my face which made me roll over "Rayla get up" he snapped "whyy? I'm not a royal guard,im an assassin " I mutter "yes I'm fully aware Rayla but this is important please make yourself presentable and meet me in the main hall" he spoke sharply as he turned to leave. I groaned before getting up and changing into my assassins outfit (s1 outfit) i fixed my hair and headed out to the main hall where he was waiting "ready?" He asked "as I'll ever be" I muttered. "I still don't understand why I have to go" I spoke but I didn't get a response as the doors opened and the king and queen of katolis walked in "welcome!" runaan spoke "it's unfortunate my partner could be here to greet you both" he added "that's quite alright" the king spoke. I didn't move or say anything until runaan put a hand on my shoulder "this is rayla" he spoke "she's our finest assassin" he smiled making me want to run away from embarrassment but I didn't move "thank you for this runaan harrow and I appreciate this...with everything happening it's nice to know our kids would be safe" the queen spoke 'ah so I was playing guard for one of the princes? Just great' I looked at the king and queen and offered a small smile "are you sure you do not wish to have another assassin accompany her to help with the other prince?" runaan asked "no we have a guard for him...but our oldest dosent truly get along with any of our guards". The king spoke. "Ethari and I will join her in katolis later this week unfortunately right have some things to take care of" runaan spoke "of course just send us a letter when you are on your way and we will prepare a place for you to stay" the king spoke runaan bowed "of course" he spoke wow I had never seen him so...royal like. "Well if everything is settled and rayla is ready I think we could take out leave" the king spoke I only gave a slight nod when everyone turned to me. runaan gave me a quick hug before I followed the king and queen out of the house. I spotted 3 horses waiting, I was given a horse and climbed on following the king and queen on horse back out of xadia and into katolis "we hope you'll enjoy it here despite the fact you are here to do a job" the queen spoke "thank you" I replied quietly.

The month was a blur of running around, me keeping the the prince alive, me falling in love and keeping it a secret. I stood by his door keeping watch I could tell everyone still felt a bit uneasy about an elf assassin being in the castle but none said a word. I tensed up when the door open ready to attack if needed but I was quiet relieved when it was the prince who walked out of the room "good morning" he spoke "good morning prince callum" I spoke "seriously you don't have to keep calling me prince callum just callum is fine besides your my friend " he replied "sorry it's just a formality " I spoke and he sighed at my response "after you" I spoke softly as he passed me he glanced at me I felt myself blush slightly and look away from him.
