Chapter 4

Rayla's pov

I was a night person so it didn't surprise me when callum fell asleep shortly after comforting me. his arms were wrapped around me keeping me close to him, I wasn't complaining I sighed softly and cuddled closer to him smiling softly just happy to be near him at least for now I had to eventually leave considering none knew we were together if I got caught with him I would get in a lot of trouble and be sent away I sighed managing to free myself from him and got up. I walked across the room and opened the window climbing out and onto the roof. I sat down on the roof and sighed softly Watching the sky. The next day I had the day off so I was just waiting on callum -we had plans to go on a small date" when I ran into amya and gren-her translator- "oh general amya" I spoke bowing slightly "rayla right? your callum's guard right?" gren spoke as Amaya signed "I am" I replied smiling slightly although admittedly I was slightly intimidated by general amaya but I'd never admit it. "aunt amaya!" callum's voice sounded from behind me as her walked over saving me from her "what are you doing here I thought you weren't due to arrive for another few days?" callum asked "oh well business finished up quickly so we were able to arrive early" gren spoke watching amaya sign. "oh well don't let us keep you then my parents would probably want to speak to you" callum spoke.

General amaya's pov

I watched as callum and his guard left the hall. I looked over at gren for a moment before we headed to find harrow and sarai. After many hugs from my sister she smiled "sorry for coming early we got ahead in schedule" I signed as gren spoke 'no worries dear sister it's always a pleasure to see you!' my sister sarai signed making me smile 'I hope everything you had to deal with is alright?' she added and I nodded 'of course sarai' I signed making my sister smile, after a moment of silence -get it ? get it?- 'sister may I ask something?' I signed 'of course' sarai asked 'what is going on with callum's guard?' I asked 'guard? Rayla? Nothing that I know of why?' was my sisters response 'I don't know yet...but the way she looks at him makes me question what she wants' was my reply 'they are friends that much I know but they have seemed closer recently' sarai responded 'all we can really do is keep an eye on them...we can bring it up later but I wish to speak to her parents first besides we do not need her anymore....' sarai added.
