Like A Star (별처럼)

chapter nine.

The next day, the SNSD members had their own individual schedules. Taeyeon also had hers. Not being able to take care of her daughter while she's away, she called her brother, Jioong, to take care of Hyesun while she's gone.

"Hyesun-ah, this is your uncle, Jioong. He just came from Jeonju and he's probably tired from that long trip to our apartment here in Seoul. He'll take care of you for a while. Okay?" Taeyeon told her daughter as she was about to leave. "Be good in school!"

She waved goodbye to her daughter and her brother. Taeyeon had a solo schedule today. She will be guesting in WinWin, the talkshow she hosted years ago, with Wooyoung.

"Hwajung-ssi! You're still here? Didn't you quit with me years ago?" Taeyeon ran up to Hwajung, her fellow emcee, when she still worked here.

"Aniyo. I'm not working here. I'm just a guest. I guess Seungwoo invited the old emcees to be his guests in this episode." Hwajung told her in her feminine, motherly-like voice. But this didn't soothe Taeyeon. Hearing that the old emcees will be guests in today's episode, she knew she was gonna see him again -- Wooyoung.

"God, what did I do to you that you keep making me see him?" She thought to herself.

Finally the filming has started. Taeyeon thought she was cursed. She was sitting beside him. She felt uncomfortable the whole time.

"Taeyeon-ssi!"

Taeyeon jumped up a little, a bit startled by Seungwoo.

"I'm sorry, did I shock you?"

Taeyeon quickly responded a no. "A-Aniya! It's just... It's been a long time since I've been here." She made up an excuse.

"Oh, is that so? Did you miss emcee-ing with me?" Seungwoo asked creating a big laughter within the people.

"I bet she misses her fellow SeungSeungDol." Shinyoung butted in. This wasn't going too well. If only Taeyeon could cover her mouth right now. Both Taeyeon and Wooyoung were speechless, making the audience misunderstand.

"They're not talking eh? There must be something going on with these two lovebirds." Shinyoung added.

"Kim Taeyeon, speak. It will become more obvious if you don't." Taeyeon thought to herself. And in a snap, she managed to respond. "Aniya! Don't misunderstand! We're just friends!" She paused. "Actually, the emcee I miss the most is Seungwoo-ssi!"

Her excuse made Wooyoung feel a bit jealous. Shinyoung noticed the two and on the filiming break, she went towards Taeyeon.

Taeyeon was in her dressing room, waiting for her driver to pick her up. She then felt her phone vibrate, receiving a text message from her manager.

Taeyeon-ah! I'm sorry but your driver is stuck in major traffic. Just wait a little longer, okay?

-Manager Park (Sent: 12:37pm)

She replied an "Ok" before she heard her door open, and a person coming in.

"Yah, Kim Taeyeon. Spill."

Taeyeon looked up from her cellphone screen, seeing her Shinyoung-unnie.

"Ne? What will I tell you?"

Taeyeon felt uneasy. She knew that she might've noticed them two.

"You and Wooyoung. Something happened, I know it."

Though Shinyoung looked like she was an ordinary comedienne, she was very close to Taeyeon and the girls. The whole SNSD could even take her as their tenth member if ever.

"Unnie..."

Taeyeon breathed deeply before telling Shinyoung what had happened to her the past years. Once again, she broke into tears, while getting comfort from her unnie's hug.

Hyesun's class was finished and she was having some ice cream with her uncle.

"Jioong-ajussi, can we go to Taeyeon-umma now?"

a/n: Okay. so does anyone knows what's uncle in Korean? I've seen a few: Samchon, Eemobu, Gomobu. But I don't know which one to use. :)) So I ended up using Ajussi instead. xD Fail.

Jioong looked how cute Hyesun was begging. He couldn't resist so he agreed and they went to visit Taeyeon.

Jioong held on Hyesun's hand as they went backstage, looking for Taeyeon's dressing room.

"K-Kim Tae-y-yeon?"

Hyesun carefully read as she pointed at the door which had the "Kim Taeyeon" sign. Both Jioong and Hyesun went in the room, seeing Taeyeon resting on a couch.

"Umma!" Hyesun ran towards her umma, giving her a warm hug. "Hyesun got an A in a test today!" She proudly told her umma. Taeyeon smiled and gave her daughter a kiss on her forehead.

"Good job, Hyesun-ah! I'll cook you some chicken when we get home, you want that?"

Hyesun jumped up and down, being excited. "Yey!"

Jioong who was standing there, walked towards Taeyeon and poked her two times. "Yah, is there a restroom in here? I've been holding it for hours already." Jioong asked Taeyeon, making her laugh. Hyesun just stayed there, not getting what her uncle meant.

"There is one. You go straight from this room then go left."

Jioong nodded before he rushed out of her sister's dressing room, on his way to the restroom.

Moments later...

"Finally. I feel refreshed." Jioong said as he walked out of one cubicle. He was washing his hands when he heard someone talking.

"Aniya. Our filming's done and right now I'm just waiting for my driver. I'll see you later, okay? I love you, jagiya."

By the silhouette the man was making, he was probably talking to someone on his phone. Jioong noticed the guy's voice and knew it was Wooyoung. Jioong knew that Wooyoung was her sister's past boyfriend. The reason she went away for 3 years. The reason why Hyesun exists. The reason why her sister cries everynight. Hearing him talk to someone, saying I love you, and calling the other person jagiya, made him clench his fists. He went towards him, grabbing his collar and pushing him to the wall.
