Their Pet

Chapter 2

One year later

Griffin

"We have an announcement to make." Rafael says, him and Xander strolling into living room. Both of them are barely able to hide the smirks on their face. Those two are always up to something, whatever they have planned can't be good.

Cassius raises his eyebrow, lounging on the chair in the middle of the two couches, knees spread wide and a glass of bourbon in his hand like he's a god damn king. Which he may as well be, we can't do anything without running it past him first.

"Well, we we're thinking." Xander gestures from him to Rafael, "You know how the King is demanding we marry."

"Yes. We all know Xander. Spit it out." Cassius says, his patience running thin.

Cassius, Rafael, Xander, Lucien, Gabriel, and I have a lot of power. We're lords and extremely rich but we don't have as much power as the king obviously. Because of our status, he is demanding that we get a wife. Either we share one or get one of our own. Harems are very common in the vampire world and we've all made it clear that we're looking to share a wife.

"We should get a pet and marry it." Rafael gets straight to the point.

Its not a horrible idea but I don't feel comfortable forcing a woman to marry us, not that pets have many rights as it is, they're property, but its still wrong. Not to mention the king won't be pleased that we aren't marrying a high status vampire.

I shake my head, "No. Thats wrong. I'm not forcing a woman to marry us. Besides, the king expects us to marry a high status vampire. Not a human pet."

"What do the rest of you think." Cassius asks, looking around at all of us.

"I'm not marrying one of those she devils, not happening. I think its a great idea. A timid little human who we can drink from whenever we want, who will obey us and who we can have fun with." Lucien says, smirking like a Cheshire cat. He's a sadist, loves inflicting pain and loves being in control. Fear is as delicious as blood to him.

Gabriel rubs the stubble along his jaw, thinking. He's analytical and calculated about every decision he makes. After a minute he speaks up, "Its smart. The king never specified who we have to marry, just that we do. I'm not fond of any of the female vampires either, they're aggravating. We should do it."

"It's settled then, we'll go to the pet shop tomorrow." Cassius declares.

I pull at the blonde curls on my head, "What! You all can't be serious. You're talking about forcing a marriage on someone."

I thought at least Gabriel would agree with me. Although he is calculated, he's caring and nurturing.

Cassius sends me a glare, "Griffin, the decision is final. We all voted. Whoever our wife will be, she's a pet. She could get bought by people much worse than us. This is one of the best situations a pet could be in, marrying 6 lords."

I know how pets are treated, some vampires treat theirs good, most treat them horribly. All the pets that I've had I treated well. I guess if I can't stop this, I'll just make sure she has a great life. She could definitely be bought for worse things. Like a sex or blood slave.

I down the rest of the blood in my glass, not bothering to argue. It'll accomplish nothing but anger him.

Rafael and Xander smirked at each other, discreetly high fiving behind their backs.

"Who knew you two actually had a brain in there." Lucien banters, pulling the hood of his black hoodie up and leaving the living room.

Rafael and Xander run after him, "Hey fuck you man!" Rafael shouts.

Cassius shakes his head and rolls his eyes,  leaving the living room too. Probably going to his office for the rest of the night to make arrangements for tomorrow.

I look up at Gabriel who's still sitting on the couch opposite me, "I can't believe you agreed to this. Its wrong and you know it."

"It is wrong. But it could be worse. If anything, we're saving the girl from a life of torture."

"Have you met Cassius and Lucien." I deadpan, "Lucien was practically getting a hard on just thinking about getting his hands on her."

Gabriel chuckles, "Lucien and Cassius won't hurt her unless she disobeys any of us, which won't happen because pets are trained to obey. If anything, he'll just play mind games and frighten her a little bit. Me and you can look after her, it'll be alright. But if she needs punished, I will punish her."

Gabriel hates disobedience, much like the rest of us. It's a trait in vampires. But I know that if Gabriel does punish her it won't be anything too bad. Like me, he's treated past pets well.

"This better not backfire, I don't want backlash from the king. He's already going to be mad enough that we didn't marry one his daughters."

"I honestly can't wait to see the look on Mara's face. She's gonna be pissed."

I laugh at that thought. Maras been pining for us for 50 years. Desperately fighting for our affection, it would be funny if it wasn't so annoying.  "I'm gonna go to sleep. See you tomorrow."
