Enid begged Eleanor to stay, but she insisted she had to go back to find Tyler, so she hid the girls inside his car and teleported back to the mansions grounds.
Her senses were heightened, adrenalin pumping through her body. Quietly listening she attempted to make out any familiar sounds, the monster appeared to be gone.
Eleanor followed the ragged panting, stumbling upon Tyler sitting on the ground, holding onto deep cuts on his chest. She knelt beside him, pulling his jacket aside to look closer at his injury.
The girls face dropped, a pained look in her eyes as she took the boys hands in hers, teleporting them both back to his car that she drove to her home.
None of them spoke the entire drive, Eleanor appeared calm and collected on the outside but inside she was frantic, guilty for putting her friends in danger and getting Tyler hurt. She held his hand the entire drive, he gave her an occasional tight squeeze to reassure her he was alright.
Once they arrived to his house, Eleanor gathered all the supplies he still had in his room after her own attack. Placing them all at the kitchen table, Eleanor stood back to help Tyler pull of his jacket, cutting the shredded T-shirt off him to get better access to his wounds.
"It's just surface wounds, you don't need stitches." Eleanor felt her voice crack, it took a lot for the girl to get shaken up the way she was in that moment. Tyler placed his hand over her own, that rested on his chest giving her a weak, but reassuring smile.
Any doubts she had regarding him, suddenly vanished away. Any restrictions and reservation she had, melted away when he gazed into her eyes.
"The body parts, they were there in the basement."
"Could it be possible ? That Laurel Gates was behind all this, but why? To finish what her father started ?" Tyler watched the girl pace back and forth in his kitchen, Enid sat quietly at the other side of the table.
"I have this itching, gnawing feeling at the back of my mind. As if the information we need is right in front of me but I've a blind fold over my eyes." Eleanor was frantic, they still didn't know what the monster was called and it was getting more aggressive and daring.
Before Eleanor could continue, the sheriff walked through his door questioning the scene before him. Wednesday insisted they must take him to the Gates mansion to show him what they had found.
Unfortunately for them, when they arrived back at the scene the home had been cleared out. Laurel Gates bedroom wiped clean of all belongings, the basement completely and utterly empty.
"I have had enough of your games, you two are to stay out of this from now on. And you, stay away from my son." Eleanor didn't understand, neither did Wednesday.
They couldn't comprehend how the monster could clear out a house in such a short amount of time, they didn't understand how the monster showed up every time they were making progress, every location they had been in.
It almost as if it was following them or someone was informing it where they were. Wednesday still insisted it was Xavier though Eleanor wasn't sure, but nothing made sense to her anymore.
"How is it that you two always seem to be in the middle of all this chaos."
"Good luck." Principal Weems met the girls at the entrance of Nevermore Academy after they had been escorted back.
"I gave you a warning, Wednesday Addams. This is a reason for expulsion."
"Tonight's events were my doing, Principal Weems. If you want to expel Wednesday it is only right to do the same with me, unless of course you won't do that because of my status within the academy." Eleanor took a step towards her principal, it was a sign of dominance and protection for her friend.
Principal Weems studied the girl, switching her glance between Eleanor and Wednesday. Eleanor had the upper hand, she was capable to get away with anything knowing her legacy.
"One more mishap and you two are gone. No excuses, no buts or ifs." The girls nodded in agreement, silently walking to their dorm where they were met with another issue, Enid who was packing her belongings.
"I'm going to stay with Yoko for a few days."
"There is no need, Principal Weems-"
"This has nothing to do with the consequences from the principal. This has to do with the fact that I almost died, because you two put me in danger tonight." Enid was frantic, with everyone reason as she should. The girl wasn't build to handle such situations, and was rather emotional.
"I've tried, to be your friend. But you don't care about anyone but yourselves and you'll use anyone to get what you want." Enid grabbed her suitcase and bags, marching out of the door past the girls, letting the silence fall upon them.
Eleanor didn't even try to go after the girl, knowing she needed time to calm down. Unfortunately the following days didn't bring any more good news and the town seemed to be spiralling with bad luck.
Mayor Walker passed away in the hospital, the details were kept under top secret that his oxygen had been cut off from access. Eleanor has been able to get into his files after teleporting into the station and out without detection.
On the day of the funeral, the rain poured so heavily and thunder rumbled through the skies. Many People gathered to bid their goodbyes and pay their respects, from students from Nevermore to the mayors closest family.
Eleanor stood beside Tyler, lacing her arm through his, tightly holding onto his hand she huddled close under his umbrella that he held over them. Lifting her head off his shoulder, she glanced at the sheriff who stood nearby, giving her a rather cold stare after she didn't follow his orders on staying away from Tyler.
Eleanor didn't want to disrespect his orders, in fact she wished she could. But upon arriving to the church, Tyler pulled her away from the crowd and begged her to stay by his side, needing the support after his father wouldn't a knowledge him.
As the ceremony came to a close, the couple began to turn and headed out for the gates. But in the last second, Eleanor managed to spot Wednesday running through the woods after a dark figure. Tyler noticed her staring off into the distance, expecting her to run off again. But when the girl turned to look at him and excuse herself, she could see the look on his face.
Tylers gaze softened, his eyebrows burrowing together and his eyes pleading her to stay. They stood under the umbrella, listening to the rain hitting against it, for a moment it took Eleanor to decide. She brought her hand up to rest on his cheek, as he leaned into it letting her warm touch comfort him. Sliding the hand from his cheek to the back of his neck, Eleanor pulled him down gently closer to her so she could rest her forehead against his.
Eleanor had a job to do, an investigation to undertake. But in that moment she knew her presence and priority were to lay else where.
