After Eleanor and Wednesday left him in the woods, Tyler was left alone with his thoughts. He felt a rage rumble inside his chest, it was Laurel Gates projecting through him.
He stumbled through the woods, coming upon his father who had his gun raised upon hearing the chaos. When he realised it was his son, his arms dropped to his side, a sigh of defeat.
Sheriff Galpin met Tyler half way, pulling him into an embrace before walking his back his car. The sheriff pulled spare clothing from his booth letting Tyler get dressed.
They drove to the Nevermore Academy upon receiving several distress calls from the students, they had arrived at the scene just as a blue glow erupted in the distance from inside the building. Tyler recognised it, begging his father to let him out but he refused, shaking his head and exiting the vehicle, locking the door behind him, letting Tyler locked inside.
Enid stumbled towards the academy gates, watching the crowd before her. They all turned staring at her as she walked closer, Ajax spotted her, as she was completely covered in blood, taking her into an embrace.
"Where is Wednesday and Elle ?" When nobody answered, she asked again more frantically. Enid began marching closer to the gates, but Ajax grabbed her arm and pulled her back.
They stared at each other for a moment, but turned their gaze back to the gates when they spotted movement heading towards them. It was Bianca and Wednesday, Enid was so overwhelmed with emotion to see her friend that she ignored her no hug rule and ran to embrace her, even though it took Wednesday a second to adjust but eventually leaned into the hug.
Enid was so relieved and overwhelmed with emotion that she hadn't noticed Eleanor. It was Xavier that carried her out to the gates, he wasn't long coming after Wednesday. Xavier knew Eleanor would be giving out to him for not leaving the academy into safety like she told him to, he wished she was.
After Eleanor summoned a large amount of power, while being injured she felt her world collapse, the darkness swallowing her and falling unconscious. Wednesday found the girl first, calling out in hopes to find somebody to help.
Enid knelt with her friend, begging her to come back. Sheriff Galpin pushed through the crowd of children, letting them know to remain calm and remain together that help was on the way, while he tended to Eleanor. They scanned over her body, covered in blood and cuts, she was extremely pale and cold but the sheriff was still able to feel a weak pulse.
What nobody could hear or see, was Tyler pounding on the window of the car, begging to be left out and tend to Eleanor, he just wanted to see if she was okay. Tyler wasn't sure what had happened to Laurel Gates, but he didn't feel the connection between them anymore, he only assumed Elle made her vanish. But it gave him control of the hyde now and he refused to let it out.
Instead he watched as an ambulance arrived on scene and took her away, his father eventually returning back inside the car. Sheriff Galpin placed a hand on his son, who signed in defeat dropping his head.
Eleanor was taken to the hospital, the doctors stitched up her wounded shoulder and treated her body as if it collapsed from exhaustion, they didn't know how to treat a girl who was weakened from using an incredible amount of magic.
A witch of her strength hadn't been seen in many years, reason for this was the power either drove them insane or killed them, a body can only hold so much. But Eleanor was special, she had a rare bloodline, unfortunately it will be a long time before she figures that out.
When Eleanor awoke after several days, she was greeted by Enid and Wednesday, who informed the girl of what had happened. The classes had been cancelled for the rest of the semester, hence why everyone was leaving. But Elle didn't care about her classes or how she disintegrated Laurel Gates into ash, she only had one person on her mind.
"He hasn't visited." Wednesday cut in, noticing the look in the girls eyes. She lay her head back on the stiff hospital pillow, sliding down in her bed.
Eleanor couldn't explain how she felt, it was as if she felt every single emotion but completely numb at the same time. Her two friends said their goodbyes after making Elle promise she would visit them, Enid more like, Wednesday wasn't keen on visiting days.
But Eleanor was curious and impatient, pulling the sheets off her she stepped out of bed to gather her clothing from the suitcase Enid brought her. She had one person to see.
"Eleanor ?" Sheriff Galpin raised his head from the paperwork on his desk, being caught off guard at the girls sudden appearance before him.
"Where is he ?"
"Safe."
"That's not what I asked." The girl folded her arms across her chest, narrowing her eyes down at the man sitting tiredly in front of her. Eleanor sighed, her eyes scanning the room, spotting a photo of the sheriffs family on his desk, it was the three all together, right before his wife passed.
"I have an offer for you."
Though her plan didn't get into motion until the next night, as Eleanor shifted in her seat, staring at the sleeping boy before her, strapped down to the chair and monitor for his and her safety.
She had her eyes trained on him, studying every feature, every beeping and spike on the monitor. He began groaning, turning his head from side to side attempting to pull his arms away.
"Elle ?" The girl smiled weakly a Tyler, his ruffled hair fell over his eyes as he struggled to get out of his restraints.
"What's going on ?"
"It's okay, you can relax. These restraints are only on for your safety, Tyler." Eleanor stood up moving closer to him, brushing the hair away from his face for his own comfort, though he studied her every move. He scanned over her face that still had healing cuts and bruises covering it, then shifting to her shoulder that had been injured to save him.
"I'm fine." Eleanor knew what he was thinking, lifting her injured shoulder to reassure him it still worked. It was then Eleanor finally began explaining where he was going and how he ended up there.
Sheriff Galpin was unsure whether to take up Eleanor's offer, but it was either sending Tyler to a high security prison or with Eleanor and she was very persuasive.
"Sheriff, your son not only lied to you but also me. He tried to kill me and betrayed my trust. But to be completely honest with you, I wouldn't of expected anything less from myself than falling in love with a psychotic serial killer."
The corners of sheriffs lips curled slowly, listening to Eleanor's confession. She sighed in defeat, pulling out a chair to sit down in front of him, the sheriff could visibly tell her face dropped, the recent events weighing down on her.
"The DuPont facility focuses on people who have recently discovered their powers, it could be for many reasons they didn't grow up in supernatural families. But whatever the reasoning is, they could become a danger to society and themselves, someone could take advantage of them."
Sheriff Galpin knew what she was hinting at, if Tyler had been made aware of who he really was things could of turned out differently.
"Tyler needs a redemption arc, you've no idea how strong the connection between a Hyde and its master is. I'll keep him safe, I promise."
Eleanor studied Tyler carefully, watching every expression change on his face as he took in all the information. She told herself she would control her emotions, set them aside but the second he met her eyes, she had reconsidered it all. Even after it all, she couldn't just stop loving him. She felt foolish for feeling that way, she couldn't remember the last time anyone made her feel that way, Eleanor always believed she didn't need anyone.
But as Tyler stared intently into her eyes, something flashed across his own, something shifted. He tilted his head to the side, his lip twitched into a smirk full of mischief.
"You're my new master."
