Sky's Pov

Sky walked quickly out of the living room as soon as she collected enough shadows to blend in. She slowed down her pace when she heard mumbles from the lounge. She tip-toed to the nearest pillar and hid behind it, straining her ears to listen in on every word Sophie and Fitz were saying.

"Oh-shoot, there's sunlight everywhere!" Sky groaned, looking around. How was she going to hide? Were Sophie and Fitz going to notice her?

Lucky for her, they weren't being obsevent enough to spot a shadow in a well-litted room. sky could almost see the sun slapping its forehead and exclaiming, "I've literally helped you spot her! Why, are you still not noticing?"

And, to makes things better, they weren't speaking very softly for a 'confidential talk'. Sky managed to catch up to what they were saying.

"Can they hear us?" Fitz asked, standing on his toes to see the gang chilling in the living room, when actually, they were acting natrual, because Fitz had their eyes on them.

"Uh, no?" Sophie responded, "we're pretty far away."

"You're right," Fitz agreed, glancing at the gang once more, "I've got to tell you something." He turned to face her.

"And, that is..?" Sophie pressed, her cheeks flushing at his gaze

"That...I actually like you," he finished.

Time seemed to stop. From both Sophie and Sky's end. 'Wait, really?" Sophie confirmed and Fitz nodded, cheeks flushing.

Sky's mouth dropped open when Sophie smiled and stepped forward, closing the gap between them and not even whispering. "I do too."

Suddenly, Sky didn't know whether it was here imagining it or was it really happening. She even pinched herself. There it was, the scene Sky had hoped to never encounter. Sophie and Fitz...kissing. Suddenly, everything looked so blurry. It had happened. There was nothing she-or the others-could do now. Sky pulled her gaze away from the two who had pulled apart and smiling at each other.

She walked down to the living room with a blank expression and tears in her eyes. When she reached the living room, everyone turned to her and asked on top of each other, "So, what happened?"

Sky looked up from staring at the floor, her tears about to fall on her cheeks. Everyone stared at her, silent. Finally, Tam was the brave one to ask the question they had all been afraid to ask, "Are they....together? Did they...kiss?" When Sky nodded, everyone fell silent, nobody said a word. Biana started hiccuping, like holding back her cry and the rest of the girls sniffed in fresh snot. The goal to get Keefe and Sophie together was...gone. Sophie had chosen Fitz. How were they going to break the news to Keefe? How was HE going to accept it?

Just then, Keefe came into the room and greeted cheerfully, "Hey guys! Guess what? I just ate this amazing cookie shaped like an elf and boy was it amazing. I couldn't thank Aiden enough times to show my gratitude for bringing me to the cafe'! Anyway, where's Foster?"

Without warning, Sky bolted out of the room, tears streaming down her face. She couldn't face Keefe, after being a big disappointment to him.
