Spiky plans to have a screening.
She invites her friends, family,
The cast and crew.
With embarrassment she is steaming.
"Maybe my film is bad...
I did the best I could though.
There's nothing left to do."
Maybe someone will like it,
Maybe even a few.
The date is set.
It will be shown at a hotel in Queens.
Then it turns into a bad dream.
Everything starts to shut down.
The theaters, shops, stores
And others.
Everyone was excited to go,
Now they have to be stuck at home.
Spiky keeps going anyway.
Being at home is nothing new.
In her bones she still has a lot to prove.
She makes a Kickstarter account,
With a video, photos, the whole load.
"The film is finished.
All we need is your support.
We'll apply to festivals. 30 to be exact!"
Spiky put in all this effort.
She's going to go all out with a shout!
Every morning she wakes up with a bolt.
On her phone or on her computer,
She prepares a post, clenches her teeth
and sends it out.
She posts on her three instagram accounts,
As well as her Facebook, and Linkedin account.
She is embarrassed with each post,
And doesn't want to spam everyone she knows.
"Gah, if I don't do anything I'm toast!"
She only has a month.
Slowly but surely
One by one, someone supports her.
Each person who donates makes her day!
She messages them back
With so much gratitude.
She's slowly getting back a positive attitude.
She writes to her Grandpa,
The one who helped her start this journey.
She tells him of her progress along the way.
It's the 30th day,
She reaches her goal!
Now is the next phase.
Festivals.
