*****- Please, pull up here, darling.
Lan Xichen's voice thundered inside the warmth of the taxi, and Jiang Cheng shuddered – had he just dozed off?
He remembered that Lan Huan had agreed to leaving his car at his office building's car park, and then they took a taxi to his place. And then they hugged a little, and were warm and silent together, resting. It was a 15-minute trip, but still – it was good to be together.
Now he blinked a couple of times, confused. The cab had pulled over and Lan Huan got out in a hurry, disappearing inside a... what was it? Was that a drive-in alley? Was it a McDonald's?
He didn't care. The comforting, strong body was gone for a couple of minutes and he felt empty, he almost panicked. He sat up in his seat quickly, now looking around, checking the driver more carefully, staring hurriedly outside the windows; it was just a standard busy street, and it was early still, not yet 10:30 p.m.
He jumped in his seat, all on edge, because his phone buzzed, and just as he thought it was Huan who wanted to ask him a question, probably standing in a line now, he was disappointed, but also – doubly worried now.
$ We have to talk, my retarded brother, and it better be soon!!! Just when are your shifts now, huh??? I am at the bar, and some grumpy son of a bitch it telling me you've just left?! I'll be at your place in 10 minutes and you better be home!!! OR ELSE!!! $
- Ughh...
Damn, not A-Li too! He just didn't have the energy to deal with this right now!
He bit his lips and was just about to dial her number, when the car door opened and a broadly smiling Lan Xichen brought in 3 bursting bags of fast food that, admittedly, filled the taxi with a very tempting aroma.
- Dammit, sir! - the driver exclaimed. – Do you even know how hungry I am?!
The big man laughed out heartily, and mumbled:
- Sorry, darling! But we need to have dinner too! My husband here is hungrier than you, I promise you! Not to mention myself! – he chirruped, leaving Jiang Cheng gaping sheepishly.
The cabbie laughed it out and drove on.
- Now, love... - Lan Huan said gently, placing the bags on the side. – Are you alright?
Jiang Cheng could only gulp hard and blink, forgetting the phone in his hand, unaware that he had managed to press the number just before this scene played out.
- Hello? Asshole? A-Cheng!!! Hey!!! I am gonna skin you alive, I swear! Are you ignoring me right now, bro?! So not cool! And what about this morning show shit, you moron?!
