On Tour with R5!

Chapter Three: Temporary Goodbyes

“Ooh this time we’re going to get them good! The boys always get the last laugh, well not this time!” Rydel became really excited after we discussed the ‘important issues’ which yes, it was the issue of pranking. Every time I have been on tour with R5, Rydel and I always muck up our own pranks, but this time it’s time for revenge.

Rydel and I talked about this for a little while longer then decided to do a bit of window shopping. Before I knew it, it was 12:00 and I had received a text from Evan:

Evan: Hey beautiful, do you want to grab some lunch?

I arranged to go and get some lunch at a café near the beach. I said goodbye to Rydel and made my way to the café.

I met Evan inside. I was extremely nervous. I just hoped Evan wouldn’t notice and ask me about it. He didn’t anyway. He was too busy on his phone; I assumed he was texting his boss or someone related to that big business deal. It was really starting to get on my nerve, so I decided to do the same. When I opened my phone I noticed I had a text message. It was from Ross:

Ross: Hey I heard you and Rydel did some planning for some pranks. I wouldn’t if I were you. You might find yourself in some trouble…

Classic Ross, trying to scare me. Well it wasn’t going to work. We’ll show him! I quickly typed a response:

Maddie: Oh really? Should I be worried? I know you should...

This was another thing I loved about Ross. You could joke around with him. I began getting more and more excited for this tour. It was going to be incredible!

I put my phone away and Evan finally looked up.

“Evan, are you alright?”

“Yeah, why?”

“You just seem so wrapped up in your career and not really in us.”

“I’m sorry Maddie; I just like to deal with you leaving by piling on the work load. I mean you’re leaving tomorrow and I’m going to miss you so much.”

“Why didn’t you just say so? I’m going to miss you too but I’ll text and call you every day.”

“Yeah I guess. How about we go and take a walk on the beach?”

“I’d love to!”

We walked hand in hand along the shore for a while until I had an idea. I pulled my hand away from Evan and started running towards the water. He soon caught on and chased me. He finally caught me from behind and spun me around. It was one of those fun moments that you’ll never forget. We decided to head home after that so we could finally have that romantic dinner together before I left for tour in the morning.

The dinner was perfect. Afterwards we just snuggled up on the couch and watched some movies together; it was just what I needed. I was really going to miss Evan while I was on tour, but I would also be distracted so it wouldn’t be as hard for me as it was for him. I was going to surprise Evan though. R5 were meant to have a concert on Valentine’s Day, but due to a technical reason, the venue was no longer available so they had to cancel their show. But so they weren’t letting fans down, Andre was able to organise it on another day at a different venue. So I was going to fly home and share Valentine’s Day with Evan.

Surprisingly, Evan fell asleep before me. I decided not to watch another movie in case I woke him up, so I just checked Twitter instead. I sent out a tweet:

@MaddieJR5: So excited to be going on tour with @officialR5 tomorrow! It’s going to be epic!

I felt my phone vibrate and noticed I had a mention from someone I follow (I actually had lots of mentions, but my phone’s setting is on so that I only get notified when someone who I follow mentions me.) It was Ross

rossR5: @MaddieJR5 I can’t wait! This is going to be the biggest & best tour yet! #R5Family!

He was right. All of their other tours were only about a month long and I hadn’t been on a full tour with them yet. Most of the time I was able to stay for the first week, then go home and get ahead of work, then fly back and meet up with them on their last week of tour. But this time their tour was ten weeks long and I was staying for the whole time. Because they upgraded their bus so it had Wi-Fi I could now come and still do my work.

I heard Evan stirring around so I put my phone away. I hadn’t noticed but it was really late! We decided to go to bed. I felt my phone vibrate and noticed it was a notification from twitter:

@ratliffR5: @rossR5 @MaddieJR5 Go to sleep! It’s past your bedtime.

I quickly replied:

@MaddieJR5: @ratliffR5 @rossR5 Way ahead of ya! Sweet dreams, see you in the morning! :)

I was so excited; I probably wouldn’t be able to go to sleep! How wrong was I? As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out.
