Chapter 12- I Guess She Really Was Tired...Or Not

Galaxy let go of his horns and stared in disbelief.

"Darkstars!" She cried in joy, as the other dived toward them.

Hyena whopped him in the head with an iron fist.

"Oh Hyena, that's my boyfriend." Laughed Galaxy.

"Three moons! I'm SO sorry. Ouch, I think he burnt my talons..." She choked.

"No it's ok, he can take it, the big thug," laughed Galaxy heartily, "oh yes I forgot to mention, he's a NightWing/SkyWing hybrid. He also has firescales."

"Hmph that makes sense..." She grumbled, rubbing her burns.

"Great, now we can drag him back to the rainforest too." Sighed Crystal.

"Alright then let's go." Said Hyena.

The four dragons went on flying for about five minutes when suddenly Galaxy passed out in the middle of flying.

Darkstars, Hyena, and Crystal all stopped and turned around, Hyena and Crystal couldn't see her, but Darkstars could.

"Galaxy!" He shouted in fear.

He reached into a small bag around his arm, inside of it was a necklace.

A necklace that Galaxy enchanted for his fire scales to have no effect when he wore it.
He put it on and dove after her.

It was hard for any dragon to see. And this just so happened to be the darkest night, the moons were all new tonight.

Darkstars flew down as fast as he could, he was in her sight, but too far to reach.

C'mon you stupid Skywing wings! Work like you're supposed to!  he shouted at himself.

He folded his wings a little more and gained more speed.

He was within talon's width of Galaxy and close to the ground. He grabbed Galaxy's talon and pulled her into his arms just before they reached the ground.

Darkstars sighed and panted, relieved that he caught her. He flew over to a cave, not very far from where they were, taking a sleeping Galaxy with him of course.

He gently put Galaxy down on a rock ledge in the cave, and started a fire outside. He sat there for a little while, looking over to make sure Galaxy was okay about every five seconds. Suddenly he heard wingbeats, he immediately jumped up and stood in battle pose.

Crystal saw Darkstars in the distance, he saw he was getting ready to fight.

"Hey, Darkstars! It's just us!' She shouted at the firescales.

Darkstars released the tension in him and was at ease. Crystal and Hyena flew down and into the cave.

"I guess we should've listened to her when she said she was tired. '' Hyena joked. 

"Oh– um, yeah" Darkstars stammered.
"About that, I found a RainWing tranquilizer in her scales...Someone put her to sleep, in the middle of flight. Someone wants my girlfriend dead. I'll do everything I can to make sure that doesn't happen."

"Grrrrr, I'll kill them with my aninu-" Hyena paused,"oh right, I don't have animus magic anymore and I'm thinking only good thoughts..."

"It's ok, thanks for trying." Said Crystal reassuringly.

"Ugh..." mumbled Galaxy, asleep.

Darkstars winced as Galaxy scowled in misery and slashed with her talons, he hated seeing her that way.

He stroked her on  the head and she calmed down.

"Well! I'm telling Queen Glory right now. I refuse to just stand by and watch my friend be almost killed and so nothing about it!" Thundered Crystal.

"Crystal, wait, it's not safe—!" Darkstars was cut off as Crystal took off and stormed out into the night sky.

"I'll go after her!" And just like that Hyena was gone too.

Darkstars gulped.

Great he thought to himself, How am I supposed to know how to take care of an unconscious female?

He shifted uncomfortably moving her to his left shoulder. He carefully and slowly shoved her to the cave floor so he could hunt for something to eat.
He promptly caught three large mountain goats and charred the meat. He carefully made a bed out of goat skins for Galaxy and moved her on it.
Her sides rose and fell in rhythmic breaths as she slept. Darkstars sat in the silence and ate peacefully and set aside one goat for his girlfriend.
He lit a branch and it made a torch. Then he relaxed and watched the cave entrance.

Meanwhile Hyena was flying blindly into the night after her reinstated friend.
She said she'd tell Glory...Queen Glory to be exact.
She came upon a clearing in the Rainforest.

The moonlight bounced and reflected off of the grass, trees and flowers. Then she stopped in horror as she saw Crystal sprawled out in the meadow, a black shape creeping up behind her.
Hyena snuck up behind the sneaking dragon and whopped him on the head with her infamous iron fist.

The dragon silently slumped to the ground.

"Crystal, Crystal!" Hyena exclaimed, shaking her.

"Ugh, a RainWing tranquilizer dart..." She sighed, plucking it out of her friend's neck.

The other dragon moaned and tried to sit up. Hyena snorted and shoved the dart in HIS neck.
Then she slung both of them on her back, winced under the weight and took off toward the cave.

As soon as she got back curiosity hit her like a tidal wave. Who was this male dragon slung over her shoulders? Did he shoot Crystal and Galaxy with RainWing tranquilizers?

Hyena flew back to the cave where Darkstars was as fast as she could, though it was proving to be quite difficult with two dragons on her back.
She was also pretty small too, for a Sandwing. As fast as she could she flew back.

"Darkstars!" She called so she wouldn't be attacked for a second time by the firescales.

Darkstars heard a noise in the distance, a dragons' voice, could it be? Yep, it sounded like it. Darkstars left Galaxy's side for a minute to find out. He emerged from the cave and saw Hyena

…. Carrying– two dragons?
One of them was Crystal but he couldn't recognize the other.
Should he know? When she woke up, would Galaxy get mad at him for not knowing? Surely not, she wasn't that kind of dragon. She was kind, fierce, sarcastic, funny, and beautiful.

Perfect in every way.

Hyena seemed to be struggling, carrying the two dragons. He looked down to make sure he had his necklace on, and flew to her to help.

About an hour later Crystal woke up, dazed and extremely confused.

"...Queen Glory?" She muttered.

"No, no Crystal, an assassin or something almost killed you. You're back at the cave with Darkstars, Galaxy, and I." Hyena said quietly to her.

Crystal opened her eyes suddenly and stood up.

"WHAT?!? WHY AREN'T I IN THE RAINFOREST GETTING HELP FROM QUEEN GLORY?!?" She yelled. Then she fell back to the ground.

Hyena sighed. "Classic Crystal" she said, rolling her eyes.

Darkstars looked over at the Sandwing, puzzled.

Wasn't Galaxy the only dragon that knew Crystal that well?

Who is this Sandwing anyway…?
