PROLOGUE
All These Lifetimes That Only I See
Wonder was built upon chaos. Ever since Mara was brought into this strange world, she had the universe within her threshold. She cursed herself for not having the steady hands of a doctor or as graceful as her mother, but she was a hero, despite not seeing it herself.
It hadn't been long after her father did the spell to make everyone forget who Peter Parker was. Her sorcerer powers allowed her to keep the knowledge of him. Mara still didn't fully understand how River could though, and River restored Harry's knowledge of him. Rosa could because of who she was, not that she went out of her way to talk to Peter. Mara didn't know about Luke.
There Mara sat, on top of a building. Her father was going to Christine's wedding the next day. He wanted her to be there too, but she declined. Her mind wandered in the depths of wonder, which caused too much distraction for her to sit through a boring wedding. Besides, she didn't feel like flying back to New York from New Orleans.
"I'm gonna be honest," the voice started, startling Mara for a second, "didn't think I'd find you in the French Quarter."
"A nice 'hi, how are you' would have sufficed, Rosa." Mara responded. Rosa sat down beside Mara.
"What are you doing here?" Rosa questioned.
"I could ask you the same thing." Mara argued.
Rosa sighed. "Something is going on with Wanda, I know it. I mean, after losing her parents, brother, love of her life, and kids... this isn't gonna be good. Figured you'd be a good person to warn." She warned. Rosa looked into the distance, waiting for a reply. "She has the Darkhold." Rosa said, looking down.
They both stood up, and silence fell upon them. "Wanda's gonna try to multiverse jump." Mara realised.
Just when Mara thought she was going to get a nice, relaxing break for once, she got thrown back into the barrel. This was going to be hell, and both Rosa and Mara knew it. It was just going to be more difficult for Rosa. She had to see Pietro die, she didn't exactly feel like seeing Wanda possibly die for her heartache. Blame would be placed on anyone that went near Wanda.
Not sure how I feel about this, but oh well.
