CHAPTER THREE
Multiverse Travel

Dark mists and clouds inched closer to Kamar-Taj. What once was a sunny and peaceful place was now dark and a warzone. Within the darkness came a scarlet colour.

    "Choose your words wisely." Wong advised Stephen. "The fate of the multiverse may depend on it."

    Stephen scoffed, "got it. No pressure, then." Stephen said.

    He looked at Mara and Rosa. Mara shook her head, "you're on your own for this one, dad."

    "If you want any chance of survival for anyone here, you don't want me trying to convince Wanda." Rosa told him.

    As Stephen backed away from Wanda slightly, Wong yelled out, "Defensive positions, now!"

    Rosa's eyes turned from violet to blue almost instantly while Mara summoned a shield of protection. When Wanda went to attack using magic, a shield started forming. "Hold!" Wong shouted.

    Stephen levitated back down. "Nailed it." Stephen mused.

    "We can tell." Mara sassed.

    Wanda went to move her hands.

    "Reinforce the shield."

    Wanda looked around.

    "She's trying to get in their heads." Stephen informed.

    "Sorcerers, fortify your mind!" Wong yelled out.

    Mara blocked off her mind, while Rosa knew Wanda couldn't enter her mind even if she tried.

    One ran off, causing the blockade to falter. Wanda used magic to destroy parts of the grounds.

    "The shield is down!" Wong yelled.

    Mara and Rosa snapped their heads to look at him. "Really? We had no idea." Rosa sassed in a panicked voice.

    One fired fire at her, sending her flying.

    Commotion and fire took over, Mara looked around panicked. "Rosa..." Mara trailed off.

    "I know." Rosa muttered.

    Everything was being destroyed, which led Stephen to make the call of everyone rushing inside.

    "Now would be a good time to call in River." Mara told her father.

    "We can handle this." Stephen argued.

    "Can we? Can we really? Did you see what she just did? And that isn't even the extent of her power." Mara responded.

    Mara, Rosa, Stephen, and Wong all rushed to find America.

    "We gotta get you out of here. Now." Stephen said firmly.

    "Wong, what happened?" America questioned.

    "Kamar-Taj has fallen." Wong answered.
