CHAPTER ONE
Get Your Kicks And Let's GoBoth Mara and Rosa sat down at the table, and the two furrowed their eyebrows at the teenager sitting with them. Mara happily ate her quesadilla while Rosa took very small bites of her blt. Why she ordered two, she didn't know.
"How much experience do you guys have with the Multiverse?" The teenager asked them.
Stephen, Mara, Wong and Rosa shared very quick looks as Stephen answered, "we have experience of the Multiverse. Most recently, there was an incident with Spider-Man."
The teenager scoffed. "What man?"
"Spider-Man. He has the powers of a spider. Hence the name." Stephen explained quickly.
"Gross. Does he look like a spider?" She asked.
"No. No, more like a man." Stephen replied.
"Climbs walls, shoots webs." Wong added.
"Out of his butt?" The teen questioned, concerned and confused.
"No." They all said in sync. "Well, maybe, I don't know. Honestly, I hope not." Stephen said.
"You're gonna get a stomach ache." He warned the teenager.
"I'm from another universe. How do you know my stomach works the same as yours?"
"She has a point, dad." Mara agreed, getting a look from Stephen.
"I don't. I don't even know if you're from another universe, which is why I'm still sitting here, waiting for you to enlighten us." Stephen waited.
The teen started speaking in Spanish, and it was times like these in which Mara had paid attention to her mother teaching her. The teen and Wong were supposedly making fun of Stephen.
"Look, I left a very nice wedding to save a smart-ass kid from getting eaten by an octopus. Christine." Stephen answered.
Wong leaned forward, "you went?"
"Holy shit, you married Christine?" The teen questioned.
Getting fed up with all of the questions, Stephen answered, "you need to explain to me what's going on. Why was that octopus trying to eat you?" He wanted answers.
Mara noticed Rosa not eating the second blt, prompting her to silently ask her if she could have it. "Yeah, go ahead." Rosa responded, passing her the blt. Mara happily munched on the blt.
"That thing was trying to kidnap me. It's like a henchman who works for a demon." She said it so casually. "All we knew is that they wanted to take my power for themselves."
"What power?"
"I can travel the Multiverse." She told them.
"What?"
"You can physically move from one universe to another?" Wong questioned.
"How?" Stephen wondered.
"That's the problem. I don't know how. Can't control it. It only happens when I'm really, really afraid."
"Okay. And did Other Me know how to defeat this demon?"
"Well, you guys knew of this magical book of pure good that gives a sorcerer whatever they need to defeat their enemy." The teenager answered.
"The book of Vishanti?" Both Mara and Stephen wondered, waiting for her to respond. She nodded.
"It's not real." Stephen said. "It's a fairytale. It doesn't exist."
"There's a fucking Multiverse, and you think a book isn't real?" Mara questioned her dad.
"Actually, it does." Wong confirmed. "I found out in the secret book you get when you become Sorcerer Supreme."
"Unbelievable."
"You're not the Sorcerer Supreme?" The teen asked.
"No, I'm not the Sorcerer Supreme."
"Other You was Sorcerer Supreme of his universe." She commented.
Wong looked at her, "although it does exist, the Book of Vishanti is said to be unreachable."
"It is. Except... we reached it. Then the demon caught up with us. I thought you'd protect me... but you didn't." The teen explained, recalling the events.
"That was the fight in my dream." Stephen stated.
"That wasn't a dream."
"Prove it." Stephen urged.
Rosa's just sitting there, thinking about her life choices.
Mara will be protecting America with her life.
Okay, bye!
