Lindsey chuckles as she opens the bathroom door, setting her change of clothes atop the closed toilet seat. "I'm about to shower so whatever you have to say, say it quick."
A very brief but very detailed image of the girl naked flashes across Foolish's mind. He violently shakes his head side to side, as if it would rid the image from his mind. That's weird. You're weird. Stop it. Stop it. Stop.
"Did you have fun today? Lana told me you guys went to this creepy ass antique store. Figured it sounds right up your ally."
A grin stretches across Lindsey's face and she leans against the doorway, bending her left leg at the knee and pressing her left foot against her right knee; like a flamingo (sort of). "I had a great time it was so fun!! Tina almost cried after seeing a section of beheaded dolls though so we left."
Foolish immediately dissolves into a brief windex laugh. "Oh yeah? Well—I-I'm glad you're having fun but how come Karl got to see you?" There's a slight edge to his tone that makes Lindsey's eyebrow raise and a smirk to pull at her lips. "Like before me?" he adds casually, shrugging a little as he looks down at his desk to locate his neon green fidget toy.
"Do you want to see me again?"
"I mean...yeah," he mumbles, cheeks flushing.
"Noah all you had to do was ask," she murmurs. "I can come out after I graduate next month, how's that?"
"Really?" he questions hopefully. "You'll actually come to Ohio?"
"For you I would," she answers softly, fondly. She bites down on her bottom lip in an attempt to keep the fondness slipping into her smile.
"Your heart of ice is melting," he jokes.
"That tends to happen when ice is in sunshine for awhile."
Foolish feels like his face has been set ablaze. Fire races up his neck, pale skin flushing to rose pink, and an excited squeak slips past an embarrassed smile. He all but yanks the phone from his ear and promptly hangs up.
The screen has no time to turn black for Lindsey's contact appears at the top in a text.
