"all I know is a simple name and everything has changed"
- everything has changed, taylor swift ft. ed sheeranI should've knocked Dean out when I had the chance. I almost had him too but Ms. Silva just had to show up. Now I'm stuck here in this stuffy office with some fucking loser I mistook for a friend. The fact he called Selena a bitch didn't sit right with me. The fact of Selena being a bitch at all isn't right to me. How can he call her that? I mean yeah she's a pain in the ass sometimes but never a bitch. He just stood there smirking too. Like everything was alright but it wasn't.
He can't just get away with degrading one of the most important people in my life.
Sitting next to him just makes me want to finish what I started. I glance over to see his cocky ass laugh and shake his head.
"What's so fucking funny, Dean?" I questioned trying to suppress my anger. His head props up and scoffs.
"The fact that you can't see how whipped you are over her".
I have no clue what he's talking about. I will never be "whipped" over Selena Moore. She's just my neighbor. That's all we are.
"Whipped? No. I just didn't like the fact that a prick like you dared to call her bitch when she's far from it" I remarked. Dean clenched his fists as soon as I called him a prick. But eases and gives a scoff.
"Okay sure, you may not be whipped. But you defend her and fight your own friend?"
I stare at him as my blood begins to boil again."After today you aren't even close to a friend and yes, I choose to defend her" I replied. Dean looks away and mutters something I can't hear.
This guy is getting on my nerves. I can't sit across him for another fucking minute. Hopefully, Selena and Ms. Silva are finishing up so I can get out of this shithole.
Thankfully the minute I think that, the door to Ms. Silva's office opens. Out walks Selena followed by the principal herself. Dean and I both looked up at the same time to figure out which one of us was next in her questioning.
My eyes flick to Selena, following her movement. From the carefulness of her walk to the bounciness of her hair and even to the crinkles in her lips when she gave me a small smile. I think I might have even caught of whiff of her perfume. Since when did she smell like vanilla? All these things seem to come at me all at once. Never in all my years of knowing Selena have I ever given them a second thought.
I just hope she doesn't hate me after today. I don't know why but I want to see more of her. These new observations only seem surface-level, but there might be more to Selena than I thought I knew.
