17. ... And that stands for your mother!

It's been a week now. There were some issues with the ghosts. Vicki Donavan was revived and attempted to kill Elena. When Bonnie brought her back to the other side, she accidentally left the gate to the other side open. Many of the other side's dead were revived and there was much chaos. Jeremy had kissed his ex-Anna, which Bonnie also found out. They broke up and in the End Bonnie closed the gate again. All the dead are back where they belong.

Before that, Mason Lockwood showed Damon a tunnel under the Lockwood estate. In the middle of this tunnel maze was a room that no vampire can enter. On the walls were many characters and symbols that seem to have something to do with the Mikaelsons and their history.

Ric has been trying to decipher the symbols and characters in the tunnel for days.

Together with Elena and Ric, I go back into the tunnel. I can enter because I'm actually a witch or siphoner.

Ric said that he could already decipher many symbols. He wrote the terms on post-it cards and stuck them on the wall with the appropriate symbols.

"Wow Ric, how long have you been on it?" I ask him in amazement.

"I spent all my time on it."

"Ok, so you have almost everything." Elena states.

"It's the white oak. It was used to create the vampires and here you can see the white oak being burned off. That's how they destroyed the only thing that could kill them," she added, pointing to two

"Well, all we need is this."

"There's the witch symbol and what looks like a bleeding heart. And upside down figures usually mean death in some way." says Ric and points to the left one first

icon, then the one in the middle.

"Mikael killed the witch. He ripped her heart out." Elena shares what Rebekah told her.

"But what does that have to do with the witch's death?" She points to the symbol on the right.

"I haven't figured that out yet."

If I take a closer look...

"Omg! Rebekah doesn't know the real story." I whisper to them both in shock.

Elena and I are on our way to the Salvatores to talk to Rebekah. I know she's going to be hurt and if I had a choice I wouldn't tell her at all. But she has a right to know what her asshole brother did.

Once there, we find Rebekah in the drawing room.

"Rebekah? I have to tell you something." I speak softly to her.

"What's happening? Something happened?"

"How do you know that Mikael killed your mother?" Elena asks roughly, which is why I nudge her to the side.

"Would you let me do it?" I hiss at her.

"Nik told it. He was there." Rebekah replies confused.

I approach her slowly. I really like her and don't want to hurt her

"Bekah, the cave you carved your names in, it's full of symbols." I pause.

"It's the story of your family, the arrival of your parents, how they made peace. The spell that turned you into vampires... and that.

The symbol for a hybrid." While I'm telling her, I show her the symbols from the tunnel.

And that represents your mother."

"The necklace," Rebekah notes.

"Here you can see how she came into life." I show her the picture with the three symbols.

I've sent Elena away because I wanted to be alone with Rebekah.

"The hybrid.. murdered the Urwitch." I quietly confess to my friend.

"No.. It wasn't him! THESE ARE JUST STUPID DRAWINGS BY PEOPLE WHO DID NOT KNOW

WHO WAS MY FAMILY! she screams, tears already forming in her eyes.

"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME? I DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO YOU. I THOUGHT WE ARE

FRIENDS!"

"Bekah... we're friends! And that's why I want you to know the truth."

She falls to the ground and cries bitterly. Her tears make their way down her face. It hurts me so much to see my girlfriend like this.

I slowly approach her and kneel down. I gently wrap my arms around her so that I hug her.

Luckily for me, she returned it and her tears pooled on my shoulder.

"Pshh, it's ok." I reassure her.

She fell asleep in my arms while crying. When I noticed that, I brought her inside her

room, covered her up and stayed with her for a while.

The next day:

I'm worried about Rebekah. She's playing brave, tough, but I know she's devastated inside. Even if I haven't known her that long, I can see it in her eyes.

Rebekah, Elena, Damon, Stefan and I are plotting with Mikael to kill Klaus. Yes, you heard that right, Mikael. He's back now, helping us kill Klaus.

We're planning to close this at the homecoming. Stefan will call him and tell him that Mikael is finally dead. Since Klaus then wants to see his corpse, he will come back to Mystie Falls.

narrator point of view:

Damon and Elena are preparing the guns.

"We can't trust Rebekah. She can still turn against us

"Oh really? When those Originals were always so reliable." —Damon

"Bonnie was right. Rebekah may be mad at Klaus, but he's her brother. "—Elena

"Your lying mom-murdering, dagger-loving brother." —Damon

"There are too many things that can go wrong. Too many possible

Now Stefan comes along too.

"What are you talking about?" he asks.

Damon tells him the short version that maybe they shouldn't trust Rebekah.

"Ok Elena, do you still have Mikael's dagger?" Stefan asks.

,Yes why?"

"You have to try to gain her trust and just before the ball, you have to stab her." Damon explains.

"Ok I'll do."

"But we can't say anything to Vivian. She's friends with Rebekah and will want to put us off."

The three come to an agreement and get back to work.
