Chapter One - Patton

I woke up to the sound of my alarm, I really wanted to sleep again but I rolled out of bed, turned it off, and put my round black glasses on.

I went to my closet and picked out a shirt. A white button-down with a sunflower on the left, right below the collar. After that, I took out a light blue sweater and a pair of khaki pants.

I got changed, then made my bed, keeping the pillow propped against the wall and a little teddy bear sitting next to the pillow. I carefully spread my blue comforter over the bed, put the pillow down over it, and kept my bear in it's spot.

Feeling proud of myself, I left for the bathroom. I looked in the mirror and saw that my dirty blonde hair was a mess. I brushed through it a couple times, which was a little more painful than normal. I guess I slept really well last night!

When I was finished brushing my hair, I noticed a note on the mirror. "I work open to close today at work. Have a great day at school Patton. ♡ Love, Mom." After reading the note I put it in my pocket.

I smiled to myself and brushed my teeth. After finishing with all of that, I went into the kitchen and ate an apple.

I felt like I was forgetting something. I haven't missed anything, I think I was ready for school. My phone!

I rushed back to my room and grabbed my phone and backpack. After making sure I had everything, I slipped my shoes on and walked outside.

The December air was cold, but I liked it! There wasn't any snow so I sat on the steps to my house and waited for Roman to pull up. I scrolled through Facebook for a little while, I'm not sure how long.

Before I knew it Roman was outside my house with his red BMW. I ran up to his car, I almost fell but I caught myself.

I got in the passenger side of the car. Once I did Roman pressed resume on his music.

It was Hamilton, I think.

He belted the lyrics the entire way to school.
